Upcoming Men's and Women's CUSA Basketball Tourney Games TV/Streaming
Answer posted in the thread about the women's tourney but thought it would be wise to post a new thread since I went looking for info on the men's tourney as well.

Looks like two ways to see the women's game. First is through CBS College Sports aka OwlVision http://www.conferenceusa.com/sports/w-ba...-body.html AND also it looks like ASN will again provide the TV for the CUSA tourneys (and like last year some will be on various carriers and also via streaming) http://www.riceowls.com/sports/w-baskbl/...-body.html Also look
here at the ASN site for a stream link http://americansportsnet.com/schedule/

Be aware that the women will play at 5pm and the men at 6pm. The men's game will be aired via ASN outlets. A quick look for DTV customers shows the game on CSN 642. I don't see it on MASN which has had all of the previous ASN games for us. Mattsports site shows the following carriers Altitude2
CSN California
CSN Chicago
CSN Mid Atlantic
and local stations (no indication what they are but in the past they are obscure local channels)

On the ASN website it does show that the men's game will also be streamed. Look here to find the stream and schedule http://americansportsnet.com/schedule/

I was checking my local Comcast channels, and the men's game is not showing on the channel guide. It lists the A-10 tourney. That's probably because of the Richmond ties (VCU and U. of Richmond), but do check your local guide to make sure its going to be on CSN Mid-Atlantic (at a minimum) in your area.

So I checked and I think we currently have the 9th longest NCAA streak of all time and 5th longest active streak. Yale had the 2nd longest of all time and 1st active, but will be going this year.

This all includes only teams that have been to the tournament

If we don't make it this year then we almost certainly will next year.

This may be the most romantically optimistic post in the history of the Parliament

It looks like the Women's CUSA Tourney will also be on CSN Chicago on one of its alternate channels (at least on DTV) this will be nice if true.

We have one more appearance than Northwestern.

Thank you I appreciate that :)
But I don't think it's even tops in the history of Owl At The Moon.

Big Dance or no, should be a fun season.

We are #270 in Sagarin. Immediately in front of Brown, the 7th place team in the Ivy League. With the Masters coming up, it is worth noting that Jordan Spieth's younger brother is the 3rd leading scorer for Brown.

Here are two routes to the dance

1. At large. According to current ESPN bracketology, the lowest Sagarin team to at large in will be Monmouth at 82. Given how we schedule I would assert that the odds of our getting an at large next year are so vanishingly small as to be indistinguishable from zero.

2. Win the CUSA tournament. Almost every year teams with losing records go to the dance on the strength of a very well timed 3 or 4 game winning streak.

I think option 2 is quite conceivable for next year but in no way likely. There will probably be 6 teams in the conference clearly better than us and we will likely have to beat 2 of them to win CUSA. But is is conceivable.

I'd look for a win over Charlotte to give some hope that this coach and these players have the necessary stuff to conjure up that streak next year.

I don't think there will be 6 more talented teams than us next year. Maybe 1 or 2. Now better teams is a different question. Remember how quickly basketball can change... Our 2nd best recruit this year according to people who've seen a healthy Chad Lott had one of the top 5 seasons in the conference. If you have 2-3 guys like that on a team you are probably one of the top few going into the conference tournament.

I agree with 1. No way we will be an at-large team next year. I think we'll probably be in the top 4-6 range in conference next year, at least pre-season. We still will be lacking big men that can outmuscle guys down low (other than Drone and potentially the new recruit Austin Meyer). I understand the fast-paced style that Rhoades wants to play, but it's imperative that we have 2 or 3 guys that can very reliably tangle down low. We were 10th in the conference in rebounding margin this year, which will absolutely need to improve next year.

I tried entering a few Houston area ZIP codes into the "Find your Station" field at the link above, but kept getting "Sorry, there are no available games in your area". Seems like the live stream is the only option, as far as I can tell.

I get the same thing. Hoping the channel number will show up @ 6:00. Also, Direct TV's listing doesn't show ASN tonight.

Thanks for checking.

On the Dish Network, it appears all CUSA games are being shown. Owl women at 5:00pm on 440. Owl men at 6:00pm on 442.

Both games are on DTV...665 and 665-1. Women's game on right now. On DTV you can't look for ASN you have to look for the game itself. You can link ASN and DTV when you look at Matts College Sports http://mattsarzsports.com/
