I enjoyed watching the Rice comeback today. Seemed like the entire team played a role today. Ricky didn't have much on the ball today, but stayed in the game and got some outs after getting shelled. Otto got stretched out today. He probably has the potential to start should Graham want to make a change there. The lefty seemed to throw well and might have gotten squeezed. Myers just had a tough game. He wasn't throwing as hard as I want to remember him previously throwing. Enjoyed seeing Jackson take the ball late in the game. Like I said, it seemed like the whole staff/team helped out today. I guess the game I saw was perhaps a little different from what others were seeing. I missed out on panic moves, missed pitching changes, or the wrong use in bullpen personnel. Doesn't mean they weren't there, probably just means that I must have missed them. I enjoyed all the runs put up by the offense. I am willing to be spoiled by such an offense should they decide to break out the bats again (and again). Great week by the Owls in terms of results: won the weekend, and won the week. If they do it again next week, we might be talking a trend here.

BTW, I don't think the blown call at third on Saturday, or the amazing auto resizing strike zone today would occur in Austin, College Station, or Baton Rouge. Rice just doesn't get the home cooking that some others continue to get. There are probably a lot of reasons for this. It was something that Section F talked about quite a bit this weekend.

I believe the 5 innings is his longest outing at Rice.

Otto pitched 5.1 innings in the 20 inning game against UH in the regionals last year.

I have to believe too with the others that the Lamar game could be in question this Tuesday. At the very least, they may have to move it up to an earlier start. But we'll see - the weathercasters have been wrong before.

It seems pretty consistent philosophy to me, win the game you are playing today because the game you are saving your players for may never be played. Likewise, there are always others that are on scholarship to perform the task should the future task actually be needed.
