Other than Little Rock and ULM which are top seeds, who do you think has the best chance to win the Sun Belt tournament and advance to the NCAA tournament?

Outsider here, but I'd say the Cajuns have the talent to play spoiler (not sure if you guys have had any injuries this year?).

Rooting for the Warhawks though; it's amazing the turnaround Coach Richard has been able to accomplish.

Since Louisiana is now a fourth seed, maybe King Karl can blame MoanROW for poor attendance, and if USA gets by Southern, and Louisiana they can share the blame, after all they're only about 140 miles from the UNO arena.

I was just checking the map, and we are almost exactly the same distance, maybe we should have a season ending football game in the MB SuperDome. A game that cannot be spoiled by weather....Oh, forgot Southern and Grambling already own that weekend.

I'd say Georgia State and ULL have the best shot outside the top two. Last two tournament champions.

I'm not a basketball fan (at any level, really) and am surprised to see that we're a 5 seed. Do we have any sort of chance in the tournament?

By and large, college (and pro) basketball is a guards game. You can have great big men but they typically don't overcome good guard play. The Cajuns tournament success or failure will ride on the performance of their guards. JMO

I'm hoping either Little Rock or Arlington wins it, and wins a game in the NCAA. Maybe lots of attention from the basketball team doing well could lead to more calls for football. While Little Rock has the best chance of actually winning a game in the NCAA tourney, I think it could be absolutely huge if UT-Arlington did.

We have a punchers chance... if we can land the 3's we can play the role of spoiler, but the odds are not in our favor.

I think with Hughes and Brown yall have a good chance of moving on. Those kids can play ball.

Yes, they can play! Very impressed with them on Saturday. However, its hard to overcome being out rebounded by 30 too! If our guards shoot just a little, we'll be tough to beat. if they shoot well, we will win it. Having said that, I wouldn't bet on us shooting it well.

I live in Arlington, and I'd really like to see the school develop. There's no reason why DFW can't have a good public university. Both North Texas and UTA have the large enrollment, but neither have the academic prestige or the athletic marketing of a big school. With proper support, in 20 years either could be where the University of Houston is today pushing for an invite to a power conference.

One of my best friends graduated from UTA though, so whenever I'm around him I always refer to it as UT-Almost.

I doubt anyone at uta thinks they are 20 years behind cougar high. they are ahead in sports and a little ahead in quest for tier one but size wise and alumni success wise not far apart. you should get over to the campus. it is like a city unto itself.

Academically, we are right up there. We are both ranked, national research U's.

In sports, we are neck and neck at this time, with the obvious exception of not fielding one program. Our mens basketvall team ia ahead, our womens will be, our baseball team is on par and our volleyball squads are historically bear an even record. Football gets them their recognition, but any fan of college sports will be able to tell ya that a good football team can belong to a bad athletic department. Not saying Houston is a bad department, but football is one of handful of programs.

And instead of UT-Almost, I prefer University of Ten-Thousand Asians.

I almost take almost as a back-handed compliment. Thought they are greedy arrogant, UT Austin is truly a great university.
