South Tampa Knight Wrote:USF does not want to play UCF in basketball. The last time that happened, I think might have been their best team with BB Waldon and Altron Jackson and up until the last minute of the game, it was a two or three point game. Since than, UCF has definately passed USF in basketball. I know UCF played in the ASun, but their coach knows what UCF has right now.

USF fan, please give me one reason why USF would schedule FAU, FIU, BCC, Stetson and Jacksonville, but never put a call into UCF?
McCullum and Speraw talked about a game, however it just didn't work out for either team. My guess is that they will play sooner than later. USF needs the easy wins.

BTW, the last time we played was not our best team and we had Waldon and Jackson in foul trouble the entire game. go back to the two games before that last game and look at the blow outs. I still have splinters in my a$$ b/c of sitting in your high school gym. IIRC USF fans nearly outnumbered UCFers in that game.

UCF has taken advantage of playing in one of the weakest conference in college basketball. You winning that conference was way overdue considering the size and resources of UCF compared to the likes of Cementary, Belmont and the rest your former 'rivals'. However, as a total program USF is still much farther ahead and has better days on the horizon.

Please cyber, I too was at that game and you had about 40 fans there. Sheriff was standing there screaming "utah state" the whole game. There was easily 1,500 UCF fans there.[QUOTE]

This is just laughable.

First off, in the past 3 years, UCF, Troy, Belmont, and maybe even Georgia State would have beat USf. I know UCF would have drilled the Bulls that past 2 years.

Secondly, how do you figure your program is in better shape? You're taking an incredibly weak program and throwing it in amongst the best basketball teams in the nation. USF will be lucky to just make the conference tournament once ever 8 years. Hell, you never really competed in CUSA.

Face it: USF wasn't playing much better than some A Sun teams the past few years. Yea, I know you beat Stetson. Woopie. We've beat them the past 10 times now and we're the one team they gun for every year.

So, if sitting in the cellar of your conference every year and winning 9-10 games a year is "better off than UCF", then that just adds to my idea of how incredibly dilusional every USF fan is.

:nutcase:

Easy wins for USF? Worst Basketball conference? More resources than the average A-sun team before 2003? USF nearly outnumbering UCF at home?

You just made that entire post up. For once I agree with the_knight_time, you're freakin' delousional! UCF has so much going for them and all USF has is the Big East. You're in absolute denial.

We beat more than Stetson but you all ready know that...don't you?

UCF has never "earned" a real post season invite, so shut your yap.

Yea, winning the conference tournament 2 years in a row isn't "earning".

I know it must suck being a fan of such a pathetic basketball program, but try to think before posting.

Winning the ASUC is hardly considering "earning" your way into the tournament. They have to pick a ASUN team, otherwise you wouldn't sniff an invite with that weak-a$$ schedule you have played the last couple of seasons.

Get a real "program" win and come back and run smack.

I'll offer you the same advice. I hope you enjoy your free ride to the NCAAs b/c C-USA will be lucky to get 3 teams into the Big Dance, and UCF will not be one of them.

BTW:

Sagarin ratings index

141 USF = 74.87 13 16 74.94 Schedule Rank: (127)
169 Central Florida = 72.96 22 9 68.51 Schedule Rank: (302)

even in a down year USF has a better ranking than CFU.

Yeah you really won that argument! Forget being 61 spots behind us in RPI. Forget the fact that your team rarely wins a game. Forget the fact that you're going to win even LESS games in the Big East. Forget the fact that you haven't sniffed an NCAA appearance in the last decade. USF has had zero success in basketball lately while UCF has been one of the most successful programs in the state. Sure, the competition was easy but at least UCF did what it could in that situation!

I can't even BELIEVE that you're talking ****** about basketball! A USF FAN!! YOU'RE A USF FAN! HAHAHA! too funny!

Don't forget..........they were a big nothing in CUSA, but now they're going to be a "big time" program in the Big East.

USF= wanna bes.

Now that schedule is funny!!!

Funny, now that UCF's OOC schedule is out, I don't see UCF fans crying about the fact that the Knights are slated to play Nova Southeastern, Stetson, Bethune-Cookman, FAU, Norfolk State, Birmingham Southern, North Florida and South Dakota State. Speraw realizes he needs some wins, too. Does that make UCF a program of cowards for not scheduling USF?

UCF has been vocal in their support for a UCF-USF matchup. That hasn't changed for years now.

It is the fools in Tampa that won't dare schedule us.

And by the way, we are also playing Florida, Arizona, Kentucky, Western Kentucky on top of a conference schedule.

We can't schedule a team that refuses to play us.

USF tried to schedule UCF but the Knights wanted nothing to do with USF.

The last UCF wants to do is get a beat by a program whom they have....in their minds at least....closed the gap against.

UCF used to get their asses kicked every year in the TAAC/ASUC. However, all the decent ASUC teams left leaving behind teams like UCF, Belmont, Garner Webb and the other assorted Division III-like programs to compete for the automatic bid.

Your luck runs out next year in even a depleted C-USA.
