What we need next season
In no particular order:

The Marquette transfer and RS Knapke need to combine for enough points and rebounds to replace Boothe statistically. We won't replace Boothe's overall play. Can they do it? Taylor's numbers weren't huge at Marquette...Knapke is thin but had talent in HS...

We need a real PG. At times this season our offense looked drunk. Maybe the incoming freshman from Kansas has already been told the job is his. He can't do any worse than we had this season.

Navigato & Sanford showed moments. I like their upsides. But we can't afford to wait too long. They need to become more consistent and average at least 22 points a game between them next season.

Would be nice to get guards who can play D on the dribble and around the perimeter. We have one guard coming in and a tweener from Chicago that is a real head scratcher for me...not sure what TK thinks he's getting?

Garber actually had some pretty good games. Floundered down the stretch. If he can make a bit more improvement again next season that will help.

Mosely...I'd like to see him come off the bench and really work hard on D. Good rebounder for his size but needs to find something else that he can do to help the team win. Scoring only works for him in certain match ups.

We CANNOT depend too much on Jon Jon next season. Ball needs to find its way into more hands, more often.

Is Adway the surprise contributor next season? Wouldn't that be nice?

TK needs at least 1, maybe even 2 new assistants. Just not been sold on their value/assistance to him in game. Maybe get someone who can help with D?

Only winning 2 games against MAC West opponents this season has me worried. Going to take some intentional hard work in the off season and a focus on toughness to have a better season next year.

Glad we still have passionate fans such as yourself. I haven't even been around for all 36 years of irrelevancy of our mens basketball program yet I'm still growing tiresome of it.

I don't see it happening next season. Just hope to see enough improvement to host a first round game. Maybe be in position to contend the season after next.

Best case scenario- Taylor was lost in a major program's roster and is the second coming of...., well, somebody real good. Knuckles or Stempin. Knapke comes over to LA Fitness with me every morning and puts on 25 pounds of muscle and becomes (and this is possible) the second coming of Casey Shaw. NWith no Boothe, we aren't constantly looking inside and our four three point shooters get more opportunities and confidence and rain threes. Navigato tags along with Knapke and muscles up and becomes the consistent board man he's shown flashes of being. The new guys contribute and are more athletic than what we have (they almost have to be). Jon Jon takes his senior leadership seriously and picks and chooses his spots instead of making crazed forays down the lane trying to do it all himself. Worst case scenario- we repeat this year. I say we will be an improved team next year, perhaps dramatically so. Knapke towers over Zack- if he has some skill he could help this team defensively. If he's five fouls in an x-tra large jersey, we're in trouble.
