Tournament results depend on our three point shooting.
And rebounding. We can assume we'll play good defense, but it doesn't help to hold a team to a low shooting percentage if they get the rebounds off missed shots. And our perimeter shooters must be on. I know Pappy doesn't like the three point shots, but when we're making them, we normally win. Last night was our worst three point shooting night in several games. Hopefully the arena in New Orleans will be conducive to our three point shooting. And everything else.

That is another reason I don't like byes. Our opponent will have played a game (or 2) on the court and will be used to the site lines, baskets, etc. I do think if we play a team that has played 2 games already, our fresh legs and depth should really help.

That's what I'm counting on. Fresh legs and a lot of experienced depth. Only thing that concerns me is that we're not a dominating team. We've won a lot of games by fairly close margins, which could have gone either way. So if we're just a little off, we could lose to nearly anyone in our league. If we were dominant on the boards, I don't think anyone in the league could come close to us. That's the area that makes us vulnerable. Another key to winning is keeping Lis and Mariek out of early foul trouble. When they have to sit out early in the first halt, it totally changes the dynamics. I'm looking forward to the day when we can get some of those really big guys that can dominate under the basket. Those really tall, wide guys. Other teams in our league have them. We need to start finding some of those who will come to Little Rock to play. Maybe our success this season will have an impact in that area.
