Super Friday
Big day on Friday. The men's basketball is going for a tournament bye. The wrestlers start their two day quest for the MAC Championship and probably more importantly NCAA berths. The gymnasts are going for the regular season MAC championship (vs. EMU) and are trying to improve their position for a NCAA berth. Pretty big day.

burden. in my 30 (some) years on earth I have never made it down to Columbus for the state wrestling tournament. That streak ends tomorrow as a family member has made it to the championship semis and is guaranteed no lower than sixth. Have you ever been down? I assume so. Thoughts, suggestions?

I actually have never gone. The last high school wrestling meet I went to was Parma vs. Valley Forge in 1967. I just can't into high school sports. I bet Lambert can help out.

Like Burden, I'm not a high school fan other than paying attention to what the wrestling recruits have accomplished. I did see a friend take 4th in 1983. lol From what my hardcore wrestling friends tell me, it's a crazy good crowd. Enjoy and good luck to your family member! Coach A's nephew is wrestling for Stow. I'll look up how he does.

Looks like we failed you miserably. Hope your family member wins it.

RE: Super Friday
Well at least the gymnasts won the regular season tonight. They were 0.700 points behind (think 3 touchdowns in the 4th quarter) going into the last event. EMU went to the beam and bodies started bouncing off the floor. Four falls in 6 routines. Actually felt sorry for them. Their second gymnast fell and you could see them tense up. Their loss and our gain though. Their actually ranked 25th in the country and us 36th. They were very good until the pressure got to them.
We didn't help ourselves much with our score though. Only 36 teams make the NCAA and unless we do very well Sunday we will probably go below 36 th. It's possible we are going to miss the NCAA for the second straight year. A rarity in our history. Their good but they just don't have the one great gymnast that you need. A lot of specialists but no all-around star.
