Exclamation This is what I want
[Image: ACC-18teams.png]

I want the ACC to get Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Notre Dame to join all-in.

I want these divisions for football:
WEST: Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Notre Dame, Louisville, Pitt, Syracuse, BC, Wake Forest*
EAST: VT, UVa, UNC, Duke, NC State, Clemson, GT, FSU, Miami

* yes, I'm picking on WFU. Put WFU in the East for basketball, or have no divisions for that sport.

I want a cable TV network - with or without Texas and Notre Dame home games, I don't care as long as everyone else gets a nice bump in pay, which they would.

I want the Orange Bowl contract redone ASAP, and I want it to pay as much as the Rose Bowl (the Sugar Bowl may actually drop?)

SO, WHAT DO YOU WANT?

Now that is being totally unrealistic. The suggestions so far in this thread are far more firmly grounded than this one.

I want sanity. That's 8 conferences of 8. When conferences are that small, almost every game means something, and teams have as much OOC flexibility as possible.

No offense but Syracuse & Virginia football aren't going to carry the ACC. Virginia/Kansas & Syracuse/Kansas are obviously for basketball. Putting Syracuse & Virginia football up against Texas, Oklahoma, ND, etc does nothing for the ACC. Having Texas/ND, Texas/FSU, Oklahoma/Clemson, etc is what will sell ACC football. Once you set these games up first & protect as many current rivalries you end up with games like Baylor/Syracuse, BC/Oklahoma St & such. Syracuse & Virginia are in divisions with their key rivals.

Would your schedules be that bad? Here are some examples.

# Virginia - Syracuse
1 Miami ND
2 NC Pitt
3 Duke Louisville
4 VT BC
5 BC Kansas

6 Pitt Texas
7 GT NC State
8 Oklahoma Miami

9 Kansas Baylor

Then doesn't that raise questions about the conference composition? Why are the schools in the same conference?

Then why make them yearly football games?

Yes. Losing a perm Florida game for the sake of playing Texas/Oklahoma games is a terrible trade. It's even worse with Kansas on the schedule.

I'll take the current setup of Pitt, BC, ND (5/14), Miami (1/6), UVA (1/6), VT (1/6), FSU, and 4 OOC games, with a yearning for PSU, UMD back, and WVU.

Why not split the conference in two, cut out the stupid games (and only keep the good ones), pool rights/access (so nobody is disadvantaged from a media perspective), have multiple CCG's for football and basketball, and make way more money?

Why have a Frankenstein conference for the sake of being big?
