2015-16 MAC titles
Update:
From going from what has been posted, here is the count I'm at:
1. Akron (5): men's soccer*, men's soccer, men's basketball*, men's indoor track, women's swimming.
2. EMU (4): men's cross country, men's swimming, women's cross country, women's indoor track.
3t. Ohio (2): women's volleyball, women's basketball*
3t. Kent (2): Gymnastics, field hockey (women?)
3t. BG (2): football*, football
3t. Buffalo (2): men's basketball, women's basketball.
7t. Ball State (1): women's soccer*
7t. Northern Illinois (1): Volleyball*
7t. WMU (1): women's soccer
7t. Missouri (1): Wrestling
* denotes regular season title.
P.S, is football a regular season and title game sport? Usually, I'd say no, but BG, iir, had the best record and won the MAC title game. For now, I'd say that counts as two, but I can be talked out of that.
NOTES: Akron men's soccer went to the final four; Akron's Clayton Murphy was the NCAA national indoor champion in the T&F 800 meters.
(fill me in on other national achievements and I'll update).
Finally, Director's Cup standings (MAC teams in the top 100, through the fall sports)
47. Akron (points in football, men's soccer)
90. WMU (points in football, women's soccer).
-----------
What is the sport by sport count for MAC titles so far this year? Akron has picked up three this week in the winter sports...men's basketball (regular season), men's indoor track and women's swimming.
That is along with the men's soccer team winning another regular season and tournament title (and going to the Final Four).
Who else has won league (regular season or tournament titles) this school year? Obviously, some, like BG's football titles are easy to find, but I'm curious in seeing an overall, sport-by-sport list.
