Guide to MAC tourney seeding scenarios for NIU
NIU can finish as a 7 or 8 seed.
_________________________________
Scenario 1: NIU loses vs Ball State:

If Toledo defeats EMU........then its #9 EMU @ #8 NIU
If EMU defeats Toledo.........then its #9 Toledo @ #8 NIU

____________________________________
Scenario 2: NIU defeats Ball State

Too many scenarios to mention but NIU would be a 7 or 8 seed and would play either Miami, WMU, or Toledo at home. I don't think there is a scenario that NIU could play BGSU win or lose Friday.

NIU can play Toledo even if NIU beats Ball state. This would happen in a scenario where BGSU beats Buffalo, causing a 3-way tie between NIU and EMU (assuming EMU beats Toledo) and Buffalo. EMU and Buffalo split and NIU dropped their game to Buffalo, NIU would finish last in this 3 team tiebreaker.

Either way, game will be AT HOME on Monday at 7 pm and we need everyone at both Friday night's (remember, 6 pm) and Monday's game! This team feeds off the home crowd energy. Tickets for Monday will be $10 each and are NOT included as part of season ticket package.

Ok, doesn't seem right since NIU holds the tie-breaker over EMU. Oh well! I will predict NIU vs Miami.

Huskies for, as Frazier would say lets get after it. Start advertising Monday's game Now! It doesn't matter who it's against.

Yeah that is the crazy thing about multiple team tiebreaks, you can have the edge over one team but then when you throw a third in there, it can change. Odds of BGSU beating Buffalo should be pretty low, but the way this season has gone, I guess you can never say never.

Sounded like he is possible for Friday but they don't know. I don't see him playing the next couple of games. Monty said he's a tough kid. I don't see that he seems very soft to me but what do I know. Huskies are 19-11 with a minimum of 3 more games.

Article on our site regarding our Tourney game on Monday says tickets are $10 and all tickets will be in the lower bowl. I would hope they will need some of the upper bowl open to accommodate the crowd?

On a Monday? No way.

If the MAC was fan and student friendly by having this game on a Sunday afternoon then no doubt.

That might be home team "fan and student friendly," but logistically would only help the first-round home teams.
1) Any season finale road team would be making transportation, lodging, meals, etc. on the fly. Definitely not friendly for fans of those schools.
2) Safe bet the coaches would grumble about playing Friday night which means they'd have to travel and practice the next day (Saturday), play the following afternoon (Sunday), and any visiting team lucky enough to win would get back on its campus late Sunday / early Monday having to travel to Cleveland either Tuesday or Wednesday in order to play Thursday.

How hard is it for the MAC to reserve a block of required hotel rooms for one of its schools in the possible tournament? This is the conference tournament not the regular season so the schools should not be on their own with this very minimal help for the first round.

How is it not fan friendly for the away schools? This way fans of the visiting team have the option of traveling on Saturday or Sunday to see the game on Sunday then get home for work on Monday.

Why would they have to travel Tuesday?

You give the students the ability to attend class on Monday and Tuesday then leave Wed AM if they have one of the 2 early games or Wed at Noon if they have one of the 2 late games.

Why don't season ticket holders get first crack?
You support them through thick and thin and you can't even get your seat for a tournament game. What a crock.

why is it that the first reaction to many is the ath. Dept is screwing them. You would think NIU athletics is the enemy.

Just ordered my ticket.

Sections 111/112/113/104/103/102 are being saved for season ticket holders. The guy at the ticket office didn't know when they would be opened to the public.

Still some decent seats you can get now between sections 114/110/105/101 for either in the front row or just off the inside aisle.
