Garland led all scorers in his state playoff game last night with 21 as LR Parkview advanced to face Jonesboro tonight in the 6A semis - the coach of the losing team raved about his talent

if they get by Jonesboro in Russellville, AR tonight, they face the winner of Pine Bluff vs. El Dorado in the title game....which would be fitting as it features the two best 2017 AR high school players in Garland and Dan Gafford (an Arky commit)

I'm at the championship game today. Pine Bluff vs Parkview. Excited to see 2 future Tigers. John Tate (football signee) plays for Pine Bluff.

Parkview beats my PB Zebras in overtime. Garland lead his team to a State Championship with 20 points.

How was Tate? Never know when we might need a Maurice Avery/Sam Craft.

Definitely more suited for the gridiron. Finished wth a couple of baskets and drew a pretty impressive charge though!

This is an example of Pastners strength. He can recruit and this young man can no doubt play ball. OTOH, Pastner doesn't seem to know how to position players for success. His biggest example of this will always be Joe Jackson. Pastner had a PG and a team that could have won a National Championship, but never even sniffed it. His teams generally have no identity, no set rotation and can never find their stride as a result.

I will say none of Pastners teams were "final four" talent, but, if Pastner had forced Joe to become a true point guard and got him the mentors around town (plenty available) to teach him the point guard mentality, we'd have done much better. At his size, everyone should have recognized his chances in the NBA were slim and none and he should have concentrated on being a great college point guard instead of trying to prove his NBA worthiness.

That's all coaching

I've seen less talented teams make the Final Four.

Those guys were never truly maximised.

Just saw on Leroy Watson's Twitter where Khalil decomitted tonight. Watson did say we were still involved. Hopefully just re-recruiting the kid.
