Watched this on a flight today - great Tv

It's the opposite of the walking dead in regards to acting and writing.

Saul was one big surprise from Breaking Bad. A great performance.

One of the best shows on TV right now. All the hype is well deserved.

It's amazing to me that Vince Gilligan took what seemed like a horrible idea and made it a great show. When I first heard they were going to do a show about Saul Goodman, I thought this is a horrible idea.
But the show is fantastic, with great acting. Bob Odenkirk as a serious actor is a great discovery. We all know how the story ends and it is tragedy watching Jimmy go down the path he's on.

And I could watch Jonathan Banks all day.

I loved his character on Breaking Bad but couldn't get into Better Call Saul. Bob Odenkirk is a phenomenal actor. I gave up after 3 episodes. Maybe it's like Breaking Bad and you have to get through the first season for it to be good. I'm about to cut the cable so I'll check it out on Netflix.

You have to watch at least thru episode 5 I think, when the get into Mike's backstory. One of the greatest performances in years when he talks about his son.

I am interested to see how long Jimmy stays at Davis and Main. I don't see them bringing in Ed Begley Jr. for just three episodes.

Sounds like this starts slow like Breaking Bad. I remember it being episode 5 before I wasn't just cringing the whole time.

I wasn't a huge breaking bad fan - I watched them all well after it aired on Netflix. I thought it hit its stride several seasons in and that Cranston as a character actor carried the show, not to take away from the supporting cast.

Better call Saul is better written and has s subtle almost Wes Anderson feel to the humor. In season two I enjoy it more than I did season two of breaking bad - there's something to the writing that appeals to me.

It may not be for everyone and I wonder if I would like it had I not seen breaking bad

RE: Better call Saul
One thing about Breaking Bad was that there were times I thought that Vince Gilligan was making the stuff up as the show progressed. I loved how some of the characters did 180's. Good became bad and bad had some redemption of sorts.

Agreed, Mike is the character I most closely identified with.

Season one seemed to start a little slow. I have enjoyed season two so far, much better.
