However, a tough test awaits this weekend as #2 Miami comes into South Bend.

Quote:Head coach Monte Lee and freshman outfielder Seth Beer earned midseason national honors this week. Lee was named midseason national coach-of-the-year by D1Baseball, while Beer received midseason honors as both national player-of-the-year and national freshman-of-the-year by D1Baseball and Perfect Game.

Quote:Beer, who graduated high school a semester early to enroll at Clemson in January, was named the nation's best player for the first half of the season by D1Baseball and Perfect Game. The Suwanee, Ga., native is riding a 25-game hitting streak, tied for fifth longest in school history. He leads the team in batting average (.430), hits (40), homers (13), RBIs (37), slugging percentage (.935) and on-base percentage (.538).

Homerun vs Georgia this week. Monte Lee estimated it went 450'. Seth said post-game that it was the hardest ball he had hit in his life.

I was on the way home and listening to the game on the radio when he hit that homer. At the start of the at-bat the Clemson radio crew was talking about how excited they were when Seth comes up to bat because there's always the chance for magic. Then he hits this.

As an aside, the UGA media told the Clemson media right after that homer that they needed to leave right then or else that ball was going to beat them back to Clemson. 03-lmfao

UPDATE: Today's doubleheader is cancelled. We'll try to play one tomorrow at 1PM. At least the snowball fight after breakfast was fun!

Cards battle for state supremacy, beat Western Ky 14-2 yesterday & took on the 23rd ranked kittens tonight. 7th ranked Louisville jumped out to a 7-0 lead in Lexington but the kittens fought back to pull within 7-6 going into the 9th. The Cards hung on to win 9-6. The cats have won all of their conference series so far this season, 1 of 2 SEC teams to do so. Clemson comes to town for a 3 game series Friday.

After a weekend sweep of BC, including coming back from being down 9-4 in the seventh yesterday to win 11-9, ND is:

--21-12, 9-7 in the ACC (5th in the 14 team league)

- 11-2 @ home

- coming off 5 straight wins

- 13-2 in last 15

- 15-4 in last 19

The Irish have a big road test next weekend at FSU.
