SMU Swimming and Diving To Break Ground on New Aquatics Facility

Our natatorium is probably our worst facility of an official sport

Yes..but..I doubt we could afford to replace it. Natatoriums are extremely expensive to build and maintain. The fact that SMU is doing this shows..they have deep pockets.

Ours was so bad it got condemned and was torn down last year. Should have been replaced years ago but we needed facility upgrades in almost every sport and swimming had to take a back seat even though it was one of our most successful sports. When I was in school SMU had won 25 straight Southwest Conference championships, and that streak wasn't broken until Texas built their new pool.

So NOT AAC...let me go on record that I love being football-only in the American, because Patriot league is a great fit for Navy's MBB, WBB, baseball, lax, etc.
Navy winning Patriot League men's and women's swimming and diving is practically like death and taxes...how could we compare that to AAC swim dive? How many Olympics trials qualifiers are on the AAC champs or other teams? I think have 11 total qualified for Olympics trials
