A title was started on this board titled "We have a shot to beat SMU". This is main reason why we need a change in coaching staff. WE ARE MEMPHIS basketball!! Did we really start a thread about having a chance to beat SMU? Have we really stooped that low to "hope" we beat a good team.
With Memphis basketball, it should already be understood that we have a "shot" to beat anybody without the fear of being blown out!

I believe with the multiple blowout games under Pastner, some fans have really forgot who we really are. We are not Tulane, UTEP, or Arkansas Pine Bluff! WE are Freaking Memphis!! In fact, with the exception of UK, Florida, and Arkansas, we have more tradition than most SEC basketball programs.

Not only has the coach has not coached up to the expectations of our university, he has dampened the excitement of TIGER BASKETBALL.

Only a -1.5 shot. Only good thing is that they play very inconsistent.
We just go out for 40 min of AAU practice now.

The good news is we have Frank Haith on the other bench instead of Larry Brown. Shaq always seems to struggle vs SMU. Plus the great Josh Pastner has never lost 3 in a row. Plus we just gotta have another ridiculous post game presser on how nobody else will want this job.

You are correct. We are Memphis Freakin' Basketball!!! We do have a great history! We do have a great future! But in the here and now we have Josh Pastner as the head coach of our basketball team. I only posted the original title because I was 99.9% sure that the current coach would not have us up for the win and the only thing in our favor was the fact that over the previous month a pattern had emerged for SMU to lose. We had a shot and lost. Period. I love my Tigers and will support them till I take my last breath but I'm no fool.
