This years freshman could play at power5 schools. They all have a lot to learn and grow up but they have power5 conference talent.

They would have gotten as many if not more minutes. If half the team is composed of freshman,mathematics say that unless five players play the entire game, the freshman will get significant minutes

On the Huskies, Maric, Armstead, Orris and Baker could all be playing 30 minutes and Chuks could be playing 25 minutes. If, Highsmith and Bowie were around they Both would be getting 30 minutes. The bottom line is our freshman are getting many minutes. How many minutes they would get somewhere else who knows. I do know other coaches would be on them for the same things as our coaches.

The rest of the OOC schedule was pretty weak too. An average MAC team should have had no more than 2, maybe 3 losses with that schedule.

Yes it was weak but I believe Akron the best team in the MAC also could've lost at Ohio St and Missouri. If NIU went 8-5 or 9-4 in the non-conference about everyone would've taken it. I have no problem with that part of the schedule. NIU has shown to be very competitive in the MAC. They certainly are a program on the rise.

If that scares you how does 33 minutes sound for Orris, that is what he logged at UIC.

Really? NIU beat UIC by only 5 and UIC happens to be last place in the Horizon league with a record of 5-24. That is nothing to gloat about.

No, to you negative Nancies none of the soon to be 20 victories for the first time in 20+ years is anything to enjoy.

I am prouder that they could be 9-9 in the MAC then the 20 wins.

20 wins would be a good thing to get, but to place it as some great achievement in my opinion is selling this program short and aiming as low as you can. NIU played 4 non-div1 teams to get there, NIU is probably more accurately a 16-13 team than a 19-10 team Its important to keep things in perspective because if you don't, it is probably easier to become satisfied and content with mediocrity.

yeah, as if crazydawg ever keeps anything in perspective...These Huskies have WON 19 games. The NCAA recognizes that and they will play in the post season for the first time in over 2 decades. How is THAT for perspective?

Besides, becoming satisfied and content is not a concern for fans, only coaches..and I NEVER met a coach who was content with being mediocre..........It is more important for fans to ENJOY the games and I enjoyed every one of the 29 thus far this year. So I won, but you, crazydawg, don't ever enjoy even victories, so, once again, you lose.

Thank you Cagey. I too have enjoyed college basketball for the first time a long time. I love the seniors, I love the freshmen, I love Marin,
and I especially love coach Montgomery. I have seen all the games on the NIU network (espn3) and I am glued to watching our guys fighting it out on both ends of the court. The arrow is up and I hope we can keep Monty for a few more years.

That's what I mean though. When I heard coach Montgomery after that UIC game I became worried about what the end goal was. He made UIC sound like Michigan state

You could go thru every teams schedule and say that's a really easy game. Should Ohio St or Missouri not count their wins against NIU? Huskies were one of the worst programs in the nation. Our record is what it is!
