Imagine if Dave Ramsey opened an online university on the subjects he was known for...now replace Ramsey with Trump.

It wasn't a "university" that was accredited, but more of a collection of seminars that people paid for to learn how Trump did things.

Oh okay

That's the same impression I have of things I have like that and therefore would not have given a dime to it.

It sounds like a cross between a get-rich-quick seminar and a motivational speech.

The folks got what they paid for, nothing.

Pretty much those poorly educated he was referring to.

RE: Trump University: "we love the poorly educated"
People that go to these types of seminars are the same people who believe the myth that Hannity, Beck and Rush keep pushing that the way to get rich is simply to work hard.

They pedal this crap all the time. If you work hard you'll become rich.

It's sad that they prey on these poor uneducated people and practically take their life savings in the process.

They might as well just run commercials that say

"Arbeit macht frei"

Most people who say what you just did simply don't know what hard work means, or how to work hard.

But that isn't what they say.

Sure hard work might pay the bills but it doesn't make you rich.

On its own no. It takes something else, something others don't have. That's what makes you rich.

But, hard work gets most people 99% of the way towards their goals.

On this we can agree but you cannot deny the amount of get rich quick commercials that advertise on these guys shows.

They pedal this crap on a daily basis. It's like they prey on these people.

Do you even listen to their shows? They basically talk two or three hours of doom and gloom and then they try and sell you a solution.

It's really quite disgusting.

Oh and before you get all high and might and tell me that I don't know what hard work is, I'll have you know that I've been working since I was 13. I worked a full time job loading trucks while I put myself through college.

Yea, I find it distasteful.

For the most part get-rich-quick schemes prey on the lazy. There is no substitute for hard work.

I couldn't disagree more. They prey on the one's willing to work hard and spend their savings to try and get rich. They just are uneducated and don't know any better.

Lazy people have no interest in trying to improve their situation. They are simply happy to exist.

Trust me on this, El Paso is full of hard working people that get caught up in these companies that I consider Ponzi schemes like Herbalife, Gogi Juice. Pampered Chef. blah blah blah.

They aren't all uneducated and they certainly aren't lazy, they are naive. I lost a bunch of friends that graduated from the Coast Guard Academy and were active duty officers because they joined the Amway cult. They worked day and night much harder than I do and blew tons of cash to travel all over the country for their rallies and the motivational swag to chase the scheme. They became so poor on an officer's salary, they were sharing hotel rooms at the rallies.

I know several people who are making some serious money from tier sales companies like it works and rodan and fields. You have to always be selling to make the money though.
