The West Virginia twitter mafia is going to town
Unreliable twitter rumor mongerer Mhver3 has been going to town the last couple of days, and now says:

UNLV
Fresno St

have joined:

Boise
San Diego St
Air Force
Colo St

in talks with Aresco to form a western division with UH and SMU should UConn and Cincy leave for the Big 12.

BYU told Aresco no per the rumor mongerer.

If true, that would leave an eastern division of:

Tulsa
Tulane
Memphis
Navy
UCF
USF
East Carolina
Temple

And it would leave the MWC with just six members:

Hawaii
San Jose
Nevada
Utah St
New Mexico
Wyoming

You need eight for a FBS conference.

This sounds like the kind of Twitter stuff that is purely rumor fed.

I wish the Big 12 would pull a big 12 and invite Boise and BYU already, as we all laugh watch them circle the drain.

Id love it if this was true. This would be a waaaaaaaay better alternative than some of the non-descript options being discussed in the other thread.

I'd pick any one of them before Boise State.

If all that nonsense actually happened, they would invite some combination of NMSU, Idaho, and FCS call-ups to replenish the ranks.

There is a thread on the MWC board caused by Mhver3's tweets.
He claims the AAC will pay each team $5 million to join the AAC in creating a BOR conference.

Doubt if any of the tweets are true.

Id much rather pay a 5 million dollar signing bonus to get MW schools than invite some of the team being discussed. W Kentucky? lol...just shoot me now.

By the way--speaking of W Virginia rumor mongers--"The Dude" claimed the Big12 may pass on all the available G5 prospects and that the B12 has sent out feelers to several ACC schools who might be interested if the Big12 has its own network.

All of this is nonsense, no XII expansion, and hell no AAC expansion. Now we are throwing around 5 million dollar signing bonuses? Give me a break. The Presidents approved this? With what money? 03-lmfao

I would think it would come from exit fee money from the two teams leaving. Frankly, a signing bonus to get MW schools would be a better use of the money than a 1 million per team windfall for 2 years tied to Western Kentucky showing up on your schedule annually. 03-puke03-puke03-puke03-puke03-puke

WKU hurts the AAC brand.

If this threat had any legs BYU would have to do something vs stay independent. This would be the hand that forces a real move by BYU.

True or not, and considering the source likely not, that is what the conference needs to do should it lose a couple of teams.

MW could then add NMSU, Texas St., UC Davis and later Wichita State and possibly UT-RGV.

BYU say no way to join the AAC conglomerate per this tweets. They will stay Indy and if not they could join the MW with a sweet deal of their own.

RE: The West Virginia twitter mafia is going to town
I was the one that exposed Mhver over 3 years ago as a fraud. He was saying that people were meeting and he had proof and then I posted that the guy who he said was meeting with someone was actually in a totally different state thousands of miles away.

Listen, The AAC doesnt need those teams even if we lose 2, and we ESPECIALLY dont need them at a cost of $5 million a piece. Thats $30 million, or more than the entire conference makes in a year.

Its more than their entire conference makes in a year, so how would they be worth it? Were going to give them what essentially what each team makes in 2.5 years just to join us.

Hes an idiot and is nearly as bad as the other West Virginia moron who has passed off others stuff as his own for years. Hell, he was using MY conference analysis as his own for a while till I linked back to the Scout board where I posted it before he stole it.

Both of them are tools and are equally as idiotic and incorrect as tuxedo yoda.

Theres a greater chance of 4 teams joining the MWC if we lose cinci and Uconn, than there is of 6 of theres joining ours. Remember, their confernce has stuck together where ours is a ragtag mixed bag of three conferences and an independent.

i thought the concept was interesting, whether it's true or not. It's definitely something that should be considered by the AAC. One more thing, MHver3 has been wrong a lot, but he got started back during the collapse of the old Big East, and his info was dead on. My guess is the guy actually had some accurate Big East sources, but was peobably just repeating any rumor he heard after that to get attention. If some of his BE sources remained with the AAC, there could be some truth buried in this rumor.

In what f**king universe does any G5 conference have $30 million lying around to pay signing bonuses out to teams? What is this?
