RE: Nice MBB Thresher article
I have had the pleasure of working with Jeremy on the Fan Experience Committee (we have 3 student members) and he has provided invaluable input into the mindset of the students. For example, almost everyone on the committee (especially the older ones) said the students should be move backed to the East stands behind the visitor's bench. Jeremy disagreed saying the students liked their End Court location as it allowed them to be even closer to the bench and closer to the opponents during time outs. Also it means that even in the top row the students are closer to the court. That statement by Jeremy changed the opinion of many on the Committee. As a function of full disclosure I should mention that CUSA mandates that the student section cannot be behind the visitor's bench.
Jeremy has also provided the students viewpoint on the various promotions the athletic department has deployed to drive student attendance. He has worked directly with Vaughn Moss who is on Marketing Director's Jana Woodson staff in strategies of how to engage the students.
Jeremy, like most Rice students, is dedicated to his work with the Committee and has easily fit in with the wide range of ages we have. He is certainly one of the reasons the attendance and the energy in the student section has greatly improved.
