Tulsa hall of fame and former first round draft pick has passed away. He leaves this earth with his jersey retired and hung high in the rafters at the Reynolds Center.

A very loved player for Nolan Richardson's TU teams with the smoothest jump shot anyone ever saw. Nickname was "silk". RIP Steve. And thanks for the memories.

I was very young when he played but remembered going to those games - talk about a hot ticket. Funny how popular those games were when there was little to no competition for the entertainment dollar.

Is that the same Steve Harris that played for the Houston Rockets?

Yup. He was an all American for Tulsa before going to the rockets.

Yes. That was the standard uniform under Nolan Richardson. I think we still have a set of those we pull our from time to time.

Woj ran with those for a season or two.

Loved TU basketball back in the Richardson days. Born/raised in Tulsa. Great teams.

It's not too late to comeback!

(BTW, let me give props to UCF's radio broadcast team. Listened to their broadcast of TU @ UCF, and they were really good)

I come back a couple of times a year. My niece currently attends TU. I do root for TU often, just not against my Sooners (got my EE degree from there), or the Knights where I got my Masters, and still currently live.

Thanks about the broadcast comment. Marc Daniels really is a great broadcaster. UCF is lucky to have him for such a long time.
