Akron transfer leads Ball State
Akron transfer Kevin Marnon pitched 6 and 2/3 innings in his Ball State debut Sunday and led the Cards to their first win of the season, 3-1 over Utah Valley. He gave up only 1 run and 4 hits in getting the victory.

Akron baseball was on the upswing, didn't Kent also get a couple good transfers, too?
Still, since the school had to drop a men's sport, baseball made more sense than either soccer or track, two sports the Zips compete at the national level.
