I like Mullens and he should have a great final season maybe even better than Stockstill this year, but he has one year to do it in under a new head coach. Stockstill has three more seasons to "take over the conference", his favorite target is a rising sophomore just like him and he got an upgrade at OC this offseason.

I certainly don't mean to take anything away from Mullens(or Litton for that matter), just feel that given time remaining and circumstances, if I were buying stock in any CUSA QB right now, it's Stockstill.

That's fine.

We'll just replace Mullens with another quality QB.

Just a few key points the muts fans and USM fans are forgetting...as some of you wanted to point out to us Western fans (till it didn't happen)....

COACHING

for most of the season muts fans wanted a new coach and were ready to run Stockstill out of town. You still have that same coach

All of this talk about QB and none about something that just as important....OFFENSIVE LINE PLAY. The next important factor for a good QB....RUNNING BACK PLAY. Without those two the best qb can be limited.

That's what the off season is for...

all of our players grew 3 inches
gain 10 pounds of muscle
up their 40 time
can lift 170000000000000000 pounds
saw the light and ready to become the best thing this conference has ever seen

All of those will be reported to be true in April. But some of us seem to forget.....if your offense looks great. Your defense is most likely poor. If your defense looks like the greatest you have seen...your offense is in trouble.

But in all honesty qb play starts with those players lining up in front of him and the best passers need a decent running game to keep the defense from dropping 8 on the snap. And the best of Qb's needs players that can get open and catch the ball

Without those 3 things or a couple of them a really good qb can all of a sudden look very average

I get it, you're going to be right, no matter what. You already know what our defense is going to look like, not only in 2016 but apparently in 2017 and 2018 as well.

Heck, I don't even know what my team will look like with a new coaching staff, much less someone else's team. We will be good, but it will be fun to be competitive once again.

I don't make a habit of speaking poorly of players, but when someone such as Doughty is disparaged in such a manner, the contrast needs to be shown.

Speaking of arrests. Is Allen still on the team after 3 DUI arrests?

BOLD 1 - A little accuracy might be nice... First of all, Chase didn't go to prep school. Secondly, he was arrested for 3rd Degree Burglary of unoccupied dwellings and vehicles. (I don't say this because I am excusing his behavior, just making a point that ROBBERY is considered a violent crime against a person and burglary is a non-violent crime against property).

BOLD 2 - Piss poor attitude... The kid is a true freshman and still learning how to lead a team of MEN. And tell me, oh Captain of Thuggery, Mr. Nashvegas, what exactly does a "thug" look like??? What a tool.

All of this happened when he was a sophomore in high school. After all of that he carried a 3.3 GPA and scored a 1520....1520 on his SAT.

He made some mistakes as a stupid 16 year old kid and has since turned it around. Now I don't know about you, but I'm willing to cut a kid some slack who did something stupid when he was 16.

Those postings were from a message board discussing why Litton was not recruited more strongly by UF. Those were not my, or any WKU's fans words.
I agree, that a lot of football players, and probably a lot of us posters, do/did stupid things when we were kids/young adults.
My only purpose for posting was because I and other WKU fans are tired of the constant comments/insults/barbs spewed by members of other fan bases (and one in particular). Doughty worked hard, suffered through two severe injuries, dealt with being a whipping boy for Petrino, and developed himself into a very good quarterback. The use of terms such as bastard to disparage a fine young man like Doughty is uncalled for.
I have nothing against Litton and hope he has a successful career. However, some of what I saw on the sidelines in the WKU game will hopefully be eliminated as he matures.

litton showed promise last year....
