Maybe we can avoid doss bitching for a few posts.

Take a look at this shot from their Saturday scrimmage against Reykjavic. I'm pretty pumped to watch some soccer this summer.

I'm not much of a soccer guy, but I'd like to check out a few games.

I've said it before, but I actually prefer women's soccer. I found myself watching most of the women's world cup recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. More effort, less flopping.

That was a beautiful goal!

Im getting more and more excited for the season to start. I love that its giving me an excuse to head to Nippeet in the offseason too.

I don't think people enjoy women's soccer because they exhibit more effort. I think they play a much more straightforward game with minimal tactical skill and a direct approach to the opposing side's goal.

Also, it helps that the US national team is far and away the best in the world.

Germany's men soccer team was fun to watch in the last world cup.

And wasn't that the style Klinsmann promised or was I just assuming that because he's German?

Not sure, but the talent in this country is a far cry from what Germany is producing as of late.

Jurgen had a really good World Cup from a tactical standpoint, but since then the team has underperformed.

So FCCincy scored in like the final minute.

Then NYCFC (MLS) scored...

Then we scored again... for the win.

I know these are just friendlies, but this team is looking like a lot of fun already.

Watching a local soccer team that's openly going for the MLS, and drinking at Nippert more often. I'll be in heaven.

Are their games going to be televised somewhere? Streamed possibly?

To my knowledge all USL games are streamed live, for free, on Youtube.

This does not include these preseason friendly matches, just once the season starts.

Agreed, i watched an old one from last season and its relatively well done for a free broadcast of minor league soccer on Youtube.

That sounds good as long as we don't have a Bowling Green situation with the announcers I'll be happy.

I think this is how all but a vocal minority of UC fans feel. Awesome to have a reason to get down to Nippert during the offseason for many of us.

You can promise all you want, but if you don't have the Lahms, Mullers, Schweinys, Gotzes, and Reus' of the world, you'll never be successful with that style. Players who can hold and advance possession with skill at every position is something only one or two countries can claim and the US will NEVER be one of them if the current sporting environment maintains itself into the future.

I'm not even a UC grad, but Nippert is one awesome place IMO, and a lot of FCC games seem to be scheduled for 7:30 pm. Nippert at night is even better.

So apparently FCC beat whatever team they played yesterday 4 to 0 and won the preseason tournament down there.
