Does anyone have the attendance averages across the conference? I know someone kept track of it last year, but I haven't found anything this year.

I agree wholeheartedly.. D has everyone believing.. And make no mistake.. That is a very good ODU team we defeated tonight.. The question is: can we do it on a neutral floor when the stakes are high? Can our overall lack of depth withstand the grueling week of the tournament?

I think we can win it...but we will see

If D'Antonio weren't the coach and you were seeing similar results, would interest be just as high, or does having the D'Antonio named attached to the program help some?

I think most of it came from winning. The D'Antoni name brought people when he first became coach, but the interest fell off as the team lost last year. We are back up to the attendance numbers we saw under Donnie Jones.

Eh...I'm sure it boosts the boosters who remember him as a player.. But do the fans under 30 know him? No. Know of him? Yes. No direct knowledge I don't think... Marshall fans are notoriously fickle..I hate to say it.. As most fans of any school are...it's all relative...you see the impact more in small schools..

But to answer your question... I think the difference will be in monetary contributions from older boosters... As far as the attendance.. If you win, they will come... Just imho... Some Marshall fans may disagree with me

If Marshall starts to win people come out. During Donnie Jones last year here 2009 we went 24-9. Attendance went from 4100 to 5900 in a year. In Herrion's 2nd year we had an avg of 5600 with 3 sellouts to his last year where he was 11-22 and has just over 4000.

It was a great crowd and a great game. GG ODU fans, your guys played incredibly good defense and Freeman was great, just not otherworldly. This game had exactly zero.zerozero fastbreak pts.
I've never seen nor heard of any college basketball game w/ out any FB pts. You've got a quality team/coach Monarchs, GL in the tourney.

It was 8520, not 8250. About 500 under capacity.

Glad to see the old coach doing well.
I used to play with him and his son at the park in Surfside Beach ,SC .
He was old so no D but could still light it up from outside.
His Socastee teams were always offense first and usually pretty good.
He has to have a lot of recruiting connections because of the Beach Ball classic.

No. No we're not.

Congrats on the win though! Hopefully this momentum can continue for the Herd. Games where the fans show up big and the team wins big, those are the kind of games that AD's dream of, since that means most of them will show up for the next game and so on. I expect the home finale to be something special for Marshall fans.

I'll say what I said on the ODU board earlier. ODU has some really talented players but as a team they remind me of Marshall from 2007-2013 under Donnie Jones and Tom Herrion. Everyone is out to "Get Their Own" and "TEAM" be damned. Maybe just maybe that changes next year when some of the player you have setting out becomes eligible. But as a player and recruit I would hate to micromanaged like Jones does.

What you saw is a team that has no clue how to put the ball in the hoop, even at 3 ft, except for 2, sometimes 3 of the starting lineup. We have 2 starters that could be as wide the hell open and just stand there with the ball and not attempt to dribble unless forced. But, what they do that you didn't see is work their asses off on defense. But... that doesn't win many games if your roll is defense and expected to not contribute when your contributing cast also can't score.

Basically we're 2 denominational and the footage is out there. Prevent Trey from scoring. Hope (and likely) that Bacote doesn't get hot and get Stith in foul trouble. That's a W ever game.
