RE: Arizona @ Rice SATURDAY baseball game thread
I wonder how much playing in CUSA 2.0 is hurting recruiting.

A good start would be getting rid of Patrick Hallmark, he is embarrassing Rice. He is a complete asshat.

"Asshat" is the sort of characterization that ought to be substantiated. What do you base that on?

Ignore. This is from a UH fan who is still a little hurt from Hallmark not taking any crap from UH asshats during last year's win at their Regional.

We have become a very passive team compared to the Omaha years both on the field and in the dugout. I can't imagine Townsend, Savery, or others from that era not lighting a fire under the team's butt but we seem to be without that attitude since those days.

As far as the non-athletic scholarship issue is concerned I saw an article recently about the problems LSU and the other Louisiana state schools are beginning to have. As most know LSU has been able to use the majority of their 11.7 'ships on out of state players because almost all of the players from in-state receive free tuition based on their academic standing in high school. This article http://footballscoop.com/news/governor-o...ign=buffer points to the possibility that budget cuts will have an impact on the field for LSU and others. I would think that baseball will be particularly hard hit.

I agree with Tiki...our whole department needs an attitude adjustment. Except for maybe Rhoades and his group, I've been harping on the excuses and sense of entitlement for a couple years. Maybe coming from him people will listen.

I think the WAC was better than the new CUSA.

Conference affiliation isn't the problem. Plenty of very good teams outside the P5. No excuse.
