Didn't TCU beg and cry to the Texas brass...? Worked for them. 07-coffee3

They also were immediately available to move into the Big 12. WVU put the Smackdown on the Big East and wrote the check with Big 12 help. UConn & UC might think about going that route too with the much larger paydays in the P5, probably worth it.

I guess his warning to "others" is when he said " most" of the teams in the Big 12 want to stay in the Big 12.
What the heck does that mean?

Maybe. But Cincy is the one that was getting a lot of publicity about being close to an invite in the days just before his statement (yesterday). Don't think he is in a vacuum. He knows what got out. He could also be talking about UCONN.

At the very least, it is sound information for all those wishing for these things and those who begin to believe internet rumors.

Could be a message to BYU as well since they have been begging to get into a P5 conference for a long time now.

This is I think it is mostly for. I think people that don't follow CR closely or not that informed think BYU is coming to the big 12. For a while with me included i thought it was always going to be Cincy and byu, but I don't think BYU is even being looked at anymore.

That's a good question and I'm glad I don't have to pick it. My options that I would be happy with are:
Temple
Colorado state
Tulane
Memphis

I'm fine with UConn but they kinda seem far away.

Not happy with : Florida schools and Houston.

Again I'm glad I don't have to choose what schools get in. I want more non Texas schools, because having such a texas based conference makes the northern schools feel less important.

Maybe because Iowa State has zero football success in the Big 12/ever?

Wow, post number 1 is an unprovoked attack on Iowa State?

Iowa State has impressive fan support in football for a school that in Matt Foley's words hasn't amounted to "jack squat."

You gotta tip your hat to those long suffering fans. Then again, there's nothing else to do for hundreds of miles.

Yeah say what you want about Iowa State, but they have impressive fan support for nearly everything. They get 60k for football, 20K for men's basketball and even their women get 10K. I would not be surprised to hear they get large crowds for the Olympic sports too.

I hear they travel pretty well too.

Yeah, they averaged roughly 91% capacity in football this year for the season which isn't bad(Similar schools with +100% capacity average). They do not get 20k for basketball considering their arena only holds 14,300, but good try.

Giving noogies to Iowa State??? Do you know anything about anything? Most colleges/universities and college sports fans/alumni would give their left ______ to have their academics and athletics support.

Give Chetstone a break. That was his very first post ever and he lists the Denver Broncos as his favorite college football team. He's probably 9 years old. He'll catch on eventually...Though he probably should start over and write his second ever post with a different handle. Cheers!

You must really hate Iowa State03-lmfao. I'm proud of my school and even if we don't do well in football we show up and give support. I hope we turn it around, our new coach that moves our recruiting class from the 70s to the 50s (40s on scout). He seems really commited to turning us around.

May I ask who you cheer for?

Yeah except Missouri got into the SEC so I don't think you're making the point you think you're making.

They wanted the B1G and got rejected. A&M needed a partner and Missouri was an easy get since they had nowhere else to go.

To be fair to Missouri (even though we know otherwise), Missouri head honchos in public were saying "Yes, B1G if you want us, we're here"; Athough they were lobbying, it was behind the scenes lobbying.

It wasn't until the govt. heads of dumbness (Nixon and a few others) spoke up saying "We DESERVE the B1G'...
