RE: Ranking the AAC QB's
Looks about right to me. I'd take P.J. Walker over Matt Davis though. So, bump Temple up to 4. 8-12 is a crap shoot and any homer could be right arguing for their team.

RE: Ranking the AAC QB's
I think Gunner is probably higher, but honestly, after his up and down season last year, it's hard to make an argument for now. He certainly has the ceiling to be at #1, but he belongs no where near it until he becomes a lot more consistent.

Um, Clay Holgerson won't be our QB next year.
Either Riley Ferguson or Brady Davis.

I'd rank Phillip Nelson ahead of UCF's crew of 0'fer QBs considering he's won B1G games.

RE: Ranking the AAC QB's
Dane surprised a lot of Tulsa fans last year (me included) under the new coach. Next year will be very special for him if we can get Lucas healthy. Offensive line needs an overhaul, more conditioned O-line play and Evans 2nd year in the system could be a great year for Tulsa, considering the 2 seasons prior.

Blame the Orlando Sentinel's lack of research.

Talent wise, he should be higher, maybe #2. But he makes a lot of mistakes from what I have seen.

One other piece of advise for ECU, UCF, and whoever else breaking in a new QB. Stick with him during early troubles and ride him at all possible costs. Taggart yanked QB's around like crazy the first 2 years. Last year he stuck with Flowers despite the 1-3 start. Flowers blossomed (pun intended) and set all kinds of school records.

I'll be sure to pass this along to our coaches.

Good lord, Gunner Kiel will be eligible for AARP next year. He's what, 36 years old by now?
Dane Evans at #2 is laughable. The guy is awful. He's improved, but I'm not convinced he'd start at ECU this season.

I think the ability to stay on the field is a major factor in ranking QBs, so where Gunner is on this list is completely reasonable.

Last year Dane threw for 4332 yards and had a completion percentage of 62.9%. He also had 25 TD's to 8 interceptions. Who's ECU got that can do better than that?

No one, he's be stupid not to take your QB. Seems like blind homerism to me. There's a lot of that on this board.

I've watched the guy play... a lot. He's not a winner, and I don't trust him at all. He's got a blooper reel to rival anyone's.
Give me Kurt Benkert with virtually ZERO game experience over Dane.

Pass yards per completion - #1 (11th in the country)
Completion % - #4 (Behind Kemp, Ward and Kiel with all 4 finishing in the top 35 in the country)

Anyone would have a blooper reel with Bill Blankenship's offense. Dane was sacked 40 times last year, had his top receiver injured, did not have a solid run game and still threw for 4,300 yards (8th in FBS.) The dude can sling the ball...

Gunner is 22. He will be 23 by the time the season rolls around. There are a lot of fifth year seniors on rosters all over the country who are 23 or even older. Last year UC played BYU and they had a freshman QB who was 22.
As other UC fans have pointed out, I agree with his position given all the turnovers and injuries the past two years.

I've seen your posts....you're not a winner. You're actually an embarrassment to ECU
