All-Conference Championships
What's the likelihood of having an all-ACC basketball championship this year??
What's the likelihood of Clemson and FSU making the playoffs next year, and having a rematch in the title game??

What has prompted the threads? Not judging, just wondering?

UNLIKELY, but at least teams will have a chance to play their way into it.

The odds that a committee composed of people who represent the other conferences would have to (a) vote to give the ACC not one but two playoff bids worth $6 million each, and (b) not make them play each other in the first round.

you have to wonder if it would have happened for the SEC in 2011? or would Alabama have been left out?
Likewise, both Clemson and FSU are loaded this year....if the winner of the Clemson-FSU game got into the playoffs, what would it take for the loser to get in? I think one day committee will have to look at taking an at-large team, and that could mean 2 teams from 1 conference....

Both FSU and Clemson look good enough to be playoff worthy, but that's about where the chances end.
For one thing, you'd have to have two other conference winners with probably 3 losses. What is the likelihood of that? A one loss advantage won't be enough, because the wins will be equal. It's possible an 11-1 could get a nod over an 10-2 Big 12 team I suppose, but 11-1 won't get the nod over 11-2 from another conference that wins a conference title game.
Second, the loser of the FSU-Clemson game just isn't going to have enough high profile wins to command a place. An Ole Miss win for FSU will be nice, as will an Auburn win for Clemson. But the ACC doesn't serve up top ten opponents, and UF and SC are both pretty down. If Clemson loses to FSU, what else exactly are they going to hang their hat on? A win over Auburn, one win against fringe top 25 school like Louisville?
It would be almost impossible for any other conference champion to have as weak a resume of wins as the FSU-Clemson loser will have.
That's just the way it is in the ACC, gonna have to win them all, until our football continues to take the next step. A one loss ACC champ is going to be in a very sketchy place as it is, forget about a non-champion barring an alignment of planets.

Florida State would have wins over (assuming they lose the Clemson game):
Ole Miss
Louisville
North Carolina
Miami
Florida
Not shabby IMO
Clemson would have wins over (assuming they lose the FSU game):
Auburn
Georgia Tech
Louisville
Pitt
South Carolina
That slate is very dependent on how Auburn and Georgia Tech do....who knows how South Carolina will be

The Tigers needs Pitt to beat Penn State and Oklahoma State so the Panthers can come into Clemson ranked.
