MAC Hoops Tournament Set Up, Please....
With a bunch of teams bunched up at 8-5 or 7-6 can someone give me a definite answer on how the seeding is set for this year's tourney.

Are the top four teams, regardless of division given byes? Is the top two from each division? Is the winner in each guaranteed a bye?

I've looked everywhere and can't get an answer. I do know that the triple bye into the semis in gone and a team will no longer have to win five games.

Just trying to figure how many teams we have to hop to get into the top four.

Would appreciate your help with a definite answer.

Thanks.

Top 4 overall...so basically there is no point to having divisions in the MAC.

A freind of mine developed a really nifty website that will be posted on the main MAC board this afternoon similar to the ESPN playoff machine but developed for the MAC tourney. Few caveats he had trouble coding 4 team and greater ties so if you have a 4 way tie you get a prompt saying that there was a 4 way tie. Other than that though I think he nailed it.

Thank you! And, ughh. We have a better chance of finishing top two in our division than top four overall. I guess that means a home game to start, though.

M.Pilot, top four teams get a bye. NIU currently is 6th. Beat Ball St Friday and they will be in fifth. They easily can get to seeds 2-4 if they keep winning.

Some good news. As long as NIU wins its remaining two home games they will in all likelihood lock up at worst a first round home game. Looks like they will have to finish 1-4 or 0-5 to be on road

If they can win Friday night, I believe they can sweep the rest of their games. They have finally found a way to win without a lot of points from Baker.

Baker is one of the hardest players to figure out I have ever seen, just a mystery. Although I guess if you look at the long term, his stretch here mid season was highly anomalous from his usual production. I think if they can upset Ball State, then they can win 1 of their final 2 road games, can't seem them sweeping the road and with how bad the perimeter D has been lately CMU could really just 3-point NIU out of the building early.

Huskies play very well against CMU. NIU is very capable of making enough 3pters to off-set CMU.

CMU has been very inconsistent so we definitely can win that one along with the rest. Need to set the tone at Ball State.
