Just confirmed that I will be getting tickets to the UCF/USM game and am in the process of booking my flight, hotel and rental car. We want to stay in Biloxi, so my questions are...

1) What can you tell me about Imperial Palace, Isle of Capri and
Beau Rivage? I know the price range, but is there really a big
difference in them?

2) How long will it take me to get to The Rock from Biloxi?

3) The game starts at 6...what time do you guys start tailgating?

Looking forward to seeing Hattiesburg and USM and maybe meeting some of you.

Thanks in advance!! 04-cheers

1. Beau Rivage is the nicest in my opinion.

2. I have not done that one in a while, but my guess is about an hour and a half with traffic.

3. It will be our homecoming game so tailgating should begin around 8pm Friday night. 04-cheers

I would think you would want to be in town at least 3 or 4 hours ahead of game time for some good tailgating.

I highly recommend Beau Rivage. In addition to what Eagle Lurker said, you will want to get to campus early in the morning on gameday. There will be a huge parade down Hardy Street that will lead into Campus, you also have Eagle Walk which is a procession of players, cheerleaders, Military, and the Pride of Mississippi(our awesome marching band) entering the campus and proceeding through the campus to the fieldhouse. Eagle Walk starts two hours before the kickoff. There will be tailgating all day and night! You will be treated great with offerings of great food, drink, and conversation. 04-cheers

I would also encourage you to stay at the Beau. It is a wonderful facility with much to do even if you do not gamble. Try out the Brew Pub, its great. Have a great stay, and we look forward to the game. Come early as previously mentioned, its homecoming so it should be a great turn out.

The construction of the Beau Rivage was overseen by a company owned and operated by a Southern Miss grad. Can't go wrong there!

I'd try to be in Hattiesburg around noon-ish. It will give you time to see the parade, etc. and enjoy some good tailgating. Be sure to hit The District (southeast corner of campus), home of the student tailgating. Then head to Legacy Field (right next to the east side of the stadium) and prepare to be well-fed!

FYI, in a nice show of conference relations, the new Southern Miss cheerleader coach is a UCF grad.
