WBB vs Hofstra 2/14/16
Wife and I just got back from this afternoons game. Great win for the Ladies over a tough Hofstra squad. Jaz had 20 pts and Muff added 17 and the team had 10 blocks for the game. Was a tight game until the 4th quarter until the Dukes held the Pride to 5 pts for the quarter and opened up a lead that resulted in a 57-42 win.

Duke Dog Reading Day crowd of 4500 had the Convo rocking today. Place was electric all game long.

The Lady Dukes are now 18-5 overall and 11-1 in the CAA. They have a 3 game lead in the loss column over both Hofstra and Drexel, who the Dukes have both beaten twice this year. Looking at the remaining 6 games Elon and possibly Delaware look to be the toughest games remaining. There is an excellent chance the ladies could run the table for the rest of the season.

Next game is this coming Friday vs William and Mary and then Sunday vs Towson. Revenge game Friday for the Ladies!! Be there and root them on!!

Good game. Had a tough time getting shots to fall, so Hofstra kept it close until late. Want them to pound the nerds later this week.

Wish we could make the W&M game but Friday's are too difficult. Will be there Sunday. Amazing run for the Dukes. Pretty remarkable to dominate the conference under the circumstances.

Curt tweeted that the women's bball team has seen a crowd of no less than 2,000 people for 36 consecutive home games.

That's more than some of the CAA men's teams get at home

Not that surprising to me. My sophomore year during the NIT run that place was packed every single game, and most games I've gone to it's been packed as well

It might not be too surprising but it is still pretty incredible. Puts us in the top 40 (out of 347 D1 teams) for the last 2 years out. If the saying goes "you are the company you keep" it is a good place to be...

My wife and I attended all of the NIT games at the Convo a few years back. Placed was packed every game and what an atmosphere. Still think if the final
had been played there the Ladies would have won.

No question at all. That game against Syracuse was something else.

I didn't hear that, but this guy was trying to fight members of the pep band & the police had to escort him out of the convo after the game.

RE: WBB vs Hofstra 2/14/16
I am glad we won the game, I felt we were always a step ahead of Hofstra. Though I felt we didn't play as well as we could have. Out shots were not falling well and we had some unnecessary turnovers. Perhaps that is due to Hofstra's defense. I feel like with the injuries we have taken a step back, but it will prove in the long run to be a good thing. I am not sure how far we go in the tournament. But to go further we need to play better overall.

The big bright spot is the cooper-williams and DD who have been amazing in rebounds. Jazmon is an amazing player that I believe could be a major player for any of the top schools. The WNBA would be dumb not to take her, she has such a smooth shot.

Oh yeah, that was part of his police escort out that day. I came in about 15 mins and got to experience the best part of it.

Yeah I remember that UVa guy. Wife and I were sitting next to the Pep band as we usually do and he was cussing and swearing at the band all game long. All kinds of families and young children around him also. Security finally had to intervene. He was a real disgrace to fans everywhere. Don't recall if he came to the Convo for the next game UVa had against the Lady Dukes though. Which the Dukes won BTW!!!

One takes on the Pep Band at their own peril!!

If I did the math right, all games hosted by a CAA team other than the Dukes averaged 717 attendees last season. The Dukes averaged 2,904. Other conference teams have to be stunned when they play in Harrisonburg.

The guy who was calling the game for the American Sports Network kept remarking about the crowd and atmosphere.

And it shows that the JMU fanbase loves winners. I don't like the fair weather nature of our fanbase at times, but it shows that if you can string together some successful seasons in a sport the fanbase will show up to support you. If the men were doing what the women have done we'd have a nice crowd on hand every game.
