I'm flattered that you view your game with us as being more important than winning the conference title.... maybe that lack of focus is why you choked against WMU and NIU. Wow... you got poll votes? You guys are... without question... the best third place team ever. You wear that title proudly because it's the only one you're going to have

Well, that one and the one of "Six in a Row". Your Alzheimer's is getting worse- you keep forgetting the BG annual choke fest.

Good to hear you admit that it wasn't because you had the better team all this time...of course we all knew that anyway.

Again...you make my point. We are the measuring stick for your program. You don't judge yourselves by titles won...you judge yourselves by wins against us. Falcon envy...pure and simple.

Again....you make MY point. "Wins ....against us". Six....in a row. Sadly, the .....measuring stick, if still..... not a rival, is NIU.

You focus on winning battles...with mixed results. We focus on winning the war...with excellent results.

Maybe focusing on war instead of football explains BG's miserable lack of success against UT.

I'm sorry....I assumed you were intelligent enough to comprehend a simple analogy. At any rate... this conversation, like so many you participate in, has grown tiresome. Enjoy that third place title... maybe next year you can work your way up to 2nd.

Easy solution to this. G5 schools just can't red shirt their players.
This is exactly the reason I was happy that UMass didn't red shirt Tajae Sharpe.

not a problem, if a student athlete can graduate in 4 years and excel on the court/field and get an opportunity to play a final year at a top school they should have the opportunity. plenty of good mac players in recent years have been guys who were stuck on the wrong side of the depth chart at michigan, notre dame, florida st, etc... graduated and spent a final year starting for a MAC team.
dieter got a BG degree, helped his team win a mac title, made sports center's top 10, and now gets to play for a national title at Bama. good for him

After the year he had last year and the circus catches he made, I would believe he'd get drafted this year. He may go higher after a year at Alabama, that is if they start throwing the ball. If not he's throwing away a year's salary.

Perhaps ... the reason this fifth-year transfer rule has not been touched is because -- while it has college basketball's face on it - it is actually football that does not want it touched. Look at all the transfer QBs that have dropped down to the MAC in recent years (opening BCS scholarships for younger backups) and players like Toledo's transfer OL last year who was nudged out.
Nobody plays games with scholarship numbers like football and this is just another tool.

Football coaches...for the most part... HATE this rule. There was a **** ton of discussion about changing it last spring
