They're not popping the champagne (publicly). This is probably the most significant day in the Obama presidency however. I also think the nomination process to replace him is going to be the ugliest partisan fight in U.S. political history.

Scalia's passing does seem to make it easier for Ginsberg to retire if she wants to.

Obama has a real chance here to reach down find a truly moderate judge and add something to his legacy. Or he can be spiteful, try to cram another leftist down and poison politics even further.

Liberals are some extremely intolerant and ugly individuals.

Can the Republicans keep this seat open for 11 months unless Obama appoints a Moderate replacement?
