RE: Zips @ Huskies predicitons
Plenty of questionable calls during the game, went both ways, NIU at home maybe got a few more of the questionable calls (which tends to be the case with the home team). However, the final play was NOT questionable, any official or any coach would NOT want that called a foul at any point. Come on...you give it to your 300 pound player almost at half court with 1 second left and he tumbles to the ground, and you want that to decide the game? No, absolutely not.

I love angry coaches, but anything getting thrown into the stands crosses a line, probably should be a suspension. Would we allow a player to do that?

For NIU, a huge, massive, much-needed win. Does this fix their issues? No, but God sometimes you just need a win.

I love Armstead, but when he's the best player on your team, you don't have a very good team. When he's the 3rd or 4th best player on your team? You have a very good team.

Wilson playing more and now starting, but it seems like he's struggled since getting more PT.

How about Zelis giving some decently valuable minutes?

NIU didn't have as many phantom/questionable calls go against them as normal but zips still got the more favorable officiating overall. Yep and as far as that last play..a foul called there wold have warranted a suspension. Not even close

Shout out to my future team NIU on taking out the number 1 team in their conference 80-79!

#GoHuskies

I looked on Maxpreps.com and he is averaging 34.8 points per game. He is the leading scorer in the state by almost 6 points per game.

I thought the officiating was relatively fair. NIU may have got more minor/less important calls against them, but the major call that NIU got was the putback + 2FT foul + techincal late in the game. Without that I don't think NIU wins (even though they only made 2 FT).

17huskie, you couldn't be more wrong about Armstead. He can and should be the best player. Once he gets his points up to 16-20 a game with being a great defender and rebounder, he could would be the best player on many good teams. He is a all-around player, like a Scottie Pippen type.

They lost by the technical. Anything could've happened in overtime. Wanna blame someone? They can blame their spoiled, ignorant coach for throwing a tantrum

Agreed, if he can get his scoring up he's the best player on our team and a team leader. Disappointing scoring hopefully is behind him.

Hmmm...maybe fair, I could be wrong. But Pippen was never the best player on a very good team. That's my point.

And I wasn't trying to say Armstead is a bad player, not at all, he's good. I just don't think this is a great team if he's carrying most of the scoring.

This team is fun to watch, they play hard and together. Their youth shows a little when they lose momentum and they play off emotions. That being said, the crowd last night helped them gain control of the game again and they found a way to win. I'm excited for the future of NIU basketball

Pippen was the best player when Jordan left. A bad foul call on a 3pt shot against the Knicks cost them a NBA title. Pippen is one of the greatest players ever and certainly one of the best all-around players ever!

I'm just glad they broke that losing streak against one the MAc's better teams. March is right around the corner they need to build some momentum if we're going to make a real run for the tournament.

Great game yesterday. It was the biggest game I saw The Huskies win in the Convo. The Akron coaches pen landed next to us in row G. It was only one of the many fouls missed by the refs. We could have put Akron away earlier if we didn't have so many errant reverse lay ups.

Anyone know why the Convo Center gift shop closed? I always enjoyed that place, even though it was small. It was good for attendees at the games to pick up an NIU souvenir.

Beginning last Saturday, VCB now has a table of things in the main lobby (shirts, sweatshirts, caps, etc.). The lady working that area said they would be there through the rest of the season.

They were hosting a birthday party. Seems like that's is what the space is designated for the rest of the season.

Big boy couldn't pivot without falling down isn't our fault and your coach acted like a baby, no like a clown it was good entertainment!!
