Tigers need late rally at turnstiles to assure payment from Grizzlies

"The average turnstile count at University of Memphis men's basketball games has dropped to 5,889 this season with three home games remaining. The dip will reduce the $800,000 annual payment the school receives from the Grizzlies — and could result in no payment if the per-game count remains below 6,000.

The Commercial Appeal received the turnstile counts of the past five seasons Friday following an open-records request. An original request for the same information was denied based on a miscommunication of how the university refers to turnstile counts..."

How many would we have to average for the last 3 games to reach the 6000 level? 101 under/game for 18 games means we're 1818 people under. Have to average 6606/game for the final 3 games

Can we move basketball back to the field house. How many does it hold?

They'll just give away tickets to various high schools, etc. for the last 3 games to make sure they get the average over the 6,000 threshold.

And I can't believe I just typed that about Tiger basketball.

Tulsa SMU and UCF. Call me a pessimist, but we are not gonna make that. I could see 7500 for SMU, 4000 for UCF and 6000 for Tulsa. and that is the high estimate. I would be shocked if we made it. JP would say that we would make it comfortably.

They're banking on smu and the weekend game being better attended. They're not that far off. Plus, senior day, plus no more football. I suspect they'll get there but it's going to be close
