Ha, temple is probably the worst 1st place team we've had for some time. They got there out of a ton of luck. More through Tulsa and UCONN choking than them putting together a good game.
It certainly helped that Tulsa did not tackle and throw any of our players into the stands this year.
Lol. We make one more FT and we beat you for a 3rd consecutive time. Temple has never scared me. Frank Haith mismanaging games late scares me a lot more.
Lol is Tulsa good at anything?

Tulsa does well for a school the size of a 6A Texas high school (not a taking a shot).

This is the post i can agree with most, Temple hasn't won anything yet, and like I've said in other posts winning the regular season is meaningless. The only goal for this season is making the NCAA tournament and each game is just a step along the way. Based on how the selection committee has acted the last 2 seasons i won't be comfortable until Temple has an RPI inside the top 30, or they are holding the AAC Tournament championship trophy.

That's like saying I would have made a touchdown if I wasn't tackled. Haha. The truth is our league is very competitive Temple is wanting it more.

Seriously? They have swept both UC and UCONN, they are legit.
???
Where did I say they were bad or not legit? I said they couldn't get anything done in the OOC and that's preventing them from being under at large consideration. Easy there.

You are what your record says you are. We are a flawed team with a lot of heart and guts. Coach stood up today egging the team on. We owe ourselves a win against Villanova, but we'll let the conference take collective credit for it. We need to be a 4-5 bid conference, sooner rather than later. Not likely this year, but need to beat up some teams out of conference. Wednesday, Feb. 17th sounds soon enough to me.
I didn't really mean the conference needed to take credit for it. Temple needs it for themselves so they can have done at large hopes. Temple winning that game would change the perception of them as a tournament teams, which matters to the teams they are beating in conference. That's where it would matter for the conference.

I still tend to think Uconn is gonna make a run in the tourney. Theyve done this before where they arent great regular season and then get it together tourney time.

UConn totally choked it...but that foul call on Purvis that turned into an incredible and 1 was BS

Heck, we're smaller than a couple Oklahoma 6A high schools. I'm not sure people realize just how small we are. It's really pretty impressive that we do what we do in athletics.

Would of, could of, should of. I can play the should of game too. If your forward doesn't tackle Will Cummings last year and knock him out of the game in one of the dirtiest plays I have seen, Temple is 2 of 3 against Tulsa.

This is true. It wasn't really a 'slam' though. I was just making an observation. I have nothing against the Temple program as a whole. I'm just not impressed with this specific team's play.

Temple 2016 is not a perfect team, we go cold for too long stretches, we don't have enough size inside, we make some head scratching plays, we follow great wins with frustrating losses. We are an imperfect team in an imperfect conference. But until proven otherwise, we are the top dog.

I know you weren't, but I was expanding the OOC issue because it would be good for the conference as well as Temple to win against a #1.

Temple isn't "impressive" by any means. They continue to win though. I know nobody here is ready to admit that maybe, just maybe the team that's 6-0 against Cinci, Tulsa, UCONN, and SMU belongs.
I know Kenpom and Sagarin tell you the Owls don't belong in the same gym as your teams but my eyes tell me otherwise.

That's quite an impressive strawman you've built there! Although maybe, just maybe, you should win a National Championship before you start chirping to UCONN fans. That goes for fishpro too!

They were also routed by 30-ish at home by Houston and lost to ECU and Memphis. Who is their best win in OOC, Farliegh Dickinson? Their saving grace is that their OOC schedule was really tough, which is why as someone said they in a sense do owe the league a win over 'Nova.
It also wouldn't hurt if SMU took out Gonzaga.
When your OOC schedule is Prairie View A&M, FAMU, ULM, UT-RGV, Eastern Illinois, Nicholls State, NCCU, Wyoming, 2 completely average mid-majors in URI and Murray State, and your 2nd best OOC win is Grand Canyon University, I don't think you should talk down to another program for their OOC schedule. Congrats on beating LSU, but short of that, your OOC schedule would've been an upgrade if you replaced most of those teams with DeSoto and Atascocita.

Congratulations on your schools past accomplishments. I fail to see how it applies to this season though. Perhaps you can shed some light on this for me.
