The fine folks in the suburbs of Morgantown have been doing that for years. Anyway, the OP was an AAC fan.

So in order for ACC to get ND football, they will also need to take WV.

So for the SEC to get Oklahoma, they will also need to take OkSt, Baylor and TCU.

In order for the PAC to get the biggest prize of all, Texas, they will have to make the biggest sacrifice and also take TT, KanSt, Kan and Iowa St.

Without the Big East now to fall back on like before, ISU would be in a touch spot and it would come down to the MW or the AAC. Given the profile of the MW, I think they would like to be lined up with the MW.

Let's pull the SEC apart:

ACC, Big 10, Big 12 become 3 18 team conferences with 2 9 team divisions

A&M, LSU, Arky, Mizzou, Ole Miss, MSU, Auburn, Alabama to the Big 12. Add WVU for the ninth in that division. Everyone else in the other
Kentucky, Tenn, Vandy, Notre Dame to the Big 10. Kentucky, Vandy, Tenn to the Big 10 east. ND, Indiana, to the west.
Florida, South Carolina, Georgia and Cincy to the ACC. South Carolina and Cincy to the Atlantic. Florida and Georgia to the Coastal.

Iowa State is a great university in many respects, but I doubt that the Big 10 wants more than one school in Iowa. In fact, I don't see any future "autonomy 5" additions resulting in more than one school per state per conference.

Can you explain again WHY the Big Ten schools would LOSE money to add Iowa State?

I don't think they would necessarily lose money. But the potential for gain is higher with other options I would think.

I think they absolutely would lose money. They add no new markets for the BTN nor their tier 1 contract. Just by adding ISU, the Big10 schools would be taking smaller cuts.

Still don't think anything happens until Texas de ides what it wants to do. If it insists on taking friends the only conference is the PAC.

I don't think texas wants to go anywhere. My guess is the big 10 is bluffing again to force a Nebraska type situation to get somebody to move. Or ESPN might be bluffing to get ND to join the ACC for football. ON deck,

KU + OU to the big 10

4-6 ACC school's to the big 10

or strike out

Florida State: I agree UT wants a "buddy" to go with them, and I believe that "buddy" is OU.

Then Ken Starr will threaten a lawsuit and nobody will go anywhere.

RE: Pulling apart the BIG XII
All that needs to happen is for the pac 12 to invite 7-8 big 12 school's and the big 12 is dissolved. 7 if WVU can get placed in the SEC, ACC or Big 10. I don't think the pac 12 inviting all the big 12 public school's is a bad move to get 1 eastern time zone with WVU. Let TCU and Baylor join the AAC. Eventually WVU might get placed somewhere else and Houston can be added.
