Southern Miss did beat ODU in Hattiesburg, right after ODU won at LaTech and broke LaTech's home winning streak. They also beat FIU on the road.

That's surprising, Kev. UAB has failed to break 70 only once in 11 CUSA games. I suppose it's due to his formula factoring in length of possession. Southern Miss wants to squeeze the life out of the game.
Yes, that puzzled me too. The number of possessions in USM games is low. USM averages 19.5 seconds per possession. That ranks 344th in the country! Only seven teams have a longer average possession time. One of them is ODU (19.7 seconds, 347th). We beat ODU, 72-71, but that game went into OT. The score at the end of regulation was only 57-57.
BTW, UAB's average possession time is 16.8 seconds, which ranks 117th. Marshall ranks 3rd in the country at 13.8 seconds.
