Michigan is certainly not Pittsburg or even VT for that matter. Harbaugh has already shown he thinks outside the box for recruiting. This game makes sense to me. If the SEC is not concerned with Garbaugh, that should change. He's going to continue to rise in recruiting rankings. A Friday night of scouting and giving potential recruits tickets to LF would be a draw for them and be a news story. Everything he's done has been a news story. Sign us up for a 2-1.

This has nothing to do with UAB. Scarbo just using UAB to stir up some bait clicks with SEC fans.

You're obviously not aware of all the crap flying back and forth between the SEC and Michigan:

CBS Sports--SEC looking to block Michigan from holding spring practice in Florida - Dennis Dodd

AL.com--SEC commissioner does not want to partake in 'childhood use of Twitter' with Jim Harbaugh

Bleacher Report--The growing fued between Jim Harbaugh and the SEC is great for college football

USA Today--Jim Harbaugh provokes rules reation from SEC

The simple fact that SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey is discussing Jim Harbaugh and Michigan with the media makes it newsworthy. And I bet that if Harbaugh DID play UAB, he'd hold a Michigan pep rally on the street in front of the SEC office and lead a parade to Uptown.

The SEC has outlawed such remote camps in order to protect its own against their SEC peers. Until Harbaugh came along, such incursions from the BIG or others from afar never were taken seriously enough to fire up internal SEC debate. Today we see a "name" coach at a "name" university program stirring the SEC to debate its own policy and this has resulted in regional protest and outcry.

The Michigan action seems to evoke the same kind of visceral defensive response from southerners as the Ohio (and Michigan) voter rights worker's invasion did in the 1960s.

Only you could make the jump from a potential Michigan-UAB game to tweak the SEC's nose to the Freedom Riders.

While it is unlikely that anyone will be murdered over the current football related "Michigan invasions" as happened in the 1960s, the nature of response to it seems to have common themes to those days. The "us vs them" hostile thinking seems to a latent impulse among many and has been triggered by Harbaugh's recruiting tactics -- you could call it his "Southern strategy".

No sometimes, articles is actually news.

And sometimes they is opinions.

And for advertisers, more readers equals more exposure. And well, you get the rest...
