To the Wonder Boys of Arkansas Tech
I know I'll never have another chance to say this in a normal conversation with another human being so....how bout them Wonder Boys! Arkansas St fans, or is Arkansas Tech FAN? I've only talked to one ever and he's a regular poster on here. His name is DavidST. DavidST: Until this very moment I did not know the name of your school's mascot. The Wonder Boys has to be the greatest or worst name for an athletic team I can think of. Cheers to you Wonder Boys!

This has been my favorite nickname of a university sports program since high school. Watching the Wonder Boys take the field has to be an event. "Go you Wonder Boys".
Another sliver of football trivia/oddities is the 1899 Sewanee (University of The South) undefeated football team. They boarded a train Nov 8 for a road trip, returning Nov 15. They returned with road wins over Texas, Texas A&M, Tulane, LSU, and Ole Miss. Five victories/seven days with train travel each day.

DavidSt is just a confused soul who has no idea about anything. Please don't associate us with him.
I think he is actually a Razorback fan, at least that's the best I can gather from his posts. He doesn't actually attend Arkansas Tech.

It's actually a couple of schools (Vanderbilt, University School of Nashville [USN], and Montgomery Bell Academy [MBA]). Out of the 3, USN is undefeated in football every year, MBA used to be undefeated in football many years (but for a different reason), and aside from occasional statistical aberrations, Vanderbilt has mostly dropped football.
That's a lot funnier if you have a working knowledge of the Nashville sports scene in the 90's and '00's.

Not than anyone gives 2 shites..just seemed like an odd remnant of history or remenant. I get the words confused

LOL - I care, and yeah, MBA has a combined history with a lot of schools (i.e. "the Wallace School"). You're actually right, I'm pretty sure their BoD operates under the University of Nashville name. But you might know the name because the Big Red were absolutely dominant in Tennessee football for YEARS.
I think that they've fallen off with the founding/rise of Ensworth High School, though.

Cheifsfan:
DavidSt may be a "confused soul", but he certainly cannot be a Razorback fan.
1. I've never known anyone who knows more about Division 2, Division 3 and NAIA football than him.
2. I had never even heard of the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys until DavidSt listed them as his team.
3. I cannot remember him ever making posts about the SEC. As we all know, a true fan of an SEC team, is an "SEC t-shirt fan" In other words, they don't have a favorite team, they have 14 favorite teams.
Cheers!
