I never thought they were unfounded. Tunsil obviously got benefits. It was proven & that kind of thing happens everywhere with players like Tunsil. My argument was never that he didnt get benefits, it was that it wasn't anything new - he was investigated, suspended, and the case was closed on that, in regards to any MAJOR ramifications.

If additional major punishment comes from the Tunsil situation (more than a few lost schollies and recruiting restrictions) then that would be a surprise to me. Now, the other football violations...if those are also major, then someome flat out lied. I mean, someone already did lie IF all this new info is true (if violations are mostly FB/Freeze related) but if they are all minor, self reported violations...those were expected.

The key is, ARE THE NEW MAJOR VIOLATIONS 'SURPRISES'. I was under the impression they were not, and if they are...Ill eat crow and never mention OM here again.

The original quote according to sources, last week when this initially broke before NSD:

"Ole Miss source speaking on the condition of anonymity said most of the allegations are tied to NCAA probes into the Rebels' women's basketball program and the track and field program. A "very minimal number" of allegations are tied to the current football staff, and those are related to former Ole Miss offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil."

All of that has yet to be disproven, even after tonight's AP story...though it does sound carefully worded with intent to mislead.

Agree on the 1st point. Ans IF anything new/significant actually comes out if this, you are absolutely right about the recruits & their families. Would be a shame.
