It's not like the place would be packed if we were playing late. Last year they gave away tickets to students to get the numbers up.

And CUSA has plenty of black eyes. No one will notice one more

That wasn't unique to last year's tournament. The same thing occurred at the afternoon sessions each time I attended the tournament in Memphis. Don't remember if it did in Cincinnati or Louisville.

Memphis gave tickets to elementary and middle school kids in lower income areas. Last year was the first year I remember college students getting free tickets.

All we gotta do is lose the F_U road trip again and we'll be playing at night. 05-stirthepot

Screw that. I have a feeling that the guys have not forgotten that road trip and will be taking care of business.

New commish has suggested doing this again for future tournaments.

I think Ray Watts may be running this.

Is it too early to talk about seeding and potential matchups?

Right now if we get the #1 seed. We would get the winner of 8) FIU vs 9) FAU

I don't like that. FIU is always tough for us.

Ah I thought you were referring to the younger students.

FIU is a tough team to be at 8/9. Lost a few close ones that dropped them out of Top 6.

A lot will probably change over the next 3 weeks. It would be nice to avoid FIU and Charlotte in the opening round.

Totally agree. Those teams have some talent, and would have a decent chance to knock us off. I'd want to avoid rice, as well. They play a crazy style that could lend itself to an upset.

RE: Conference USA basketball tournament
Something interesting I found considering we may have to face some opponents for the 3rd time in this year's tournament. We've all heard how hard it is to beat a team 3 times in one season. Well according to this article that's not neccesarilly true.

https://jamesmadison.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1479805

Granted it's from 2013 but I was pretty surprised by this:

According to STATS LLC., there have been 981 similar matchups across Division I college basketball over the past 10 seasons. The teams entering the third game 2-0 are a combined 710-271 (.724 winning percentage) in the third meeting.

Anyways, something to ponder during the long week off.
