It needs to be noted that with the release of the most recent Carneige classifications ULM moved up to an R3 classification. This is a huge honor, ESPECIALLY considering the budget constraints that La schools have been under lately.

I'll also toot our horn: UL remains a step higher at R2, and moving steadily towards R1.

P.S. ltu-r dropped from R2 to R3, clearly indicating that their academics continue in their downward spire.

Well, this is about congratulating ULM on the academic success they have achieved. The fact they are now on equal academic status with ltu@ruston is secondary news, IMHO, so I wasn't going to post on it the cusa board.....but if anyone feels different please free free to do so, and use my pic.

I guess La Tech can not feel as bad about the possibility of being on the same conference as ULM, seeing as they are now officially peers.

I don't think ULM would want to lower themselves in such a manner. But that's just my opinion..........you can ask them if I'm right about that.

Thanks for the recognition. We don't have the sexy areas of study like engineering and astrophysics, et al, as some other schools do but we're not bad in what we have. One of the top five pharmacy schools in the country, one of the best meteorology schools, and now recently we just found out we have the 2nd best rated nursing school in the country. Plus we've been getting some major financial donations lately which always helps a bit. Student numbers are also slowly going up.

Now if our state would just recognize that squeezing the higher ed schools is just a terrifically fantastic method of chasing Louisiana's future away and keeping them away....

This news has been the best anti troll spray EVER! We have not heard a peep from anyone from dogpatch in a week.....which is when the reality of their decline in academics became public knowledge. So it has truly been a win-win situation!
