Coach Beard commented that Jermaine Rutley told him recently that he's starting to see things better on the court. Jermaine has been working some at the point when Josh is out of the game, as has Deondre Burns.

You'll see zone every game until we come down to Little Rock. Brady doesn't believe in zone.

And I was shocked today when the best women's coach in the state said he doesn't believe in the press, unless he just has to press when trailing late in a game. Coach Foley says he hates to give up layups, and that can happen when they beat the press. But I was surprised to hear that. I too had noticed that he doesn't press very much, but since his teams aren't usually very far down in games, I really hadn't given it much thought. Another fan asked him at the luncheon today why he didn't press much.

We have an ample supply of zone-busters.

I really think the press is mostly psychological. If teams keep their cool and keep proper spacing, they ought to love for teams to press for exactly the reason Foley says. But they get rattled and cough up the ball.
