"It's only natural to seek the highest opportunity and most challenging endeavor."

That statement could be used against NIU in trying to recruit the better athletes and the higher rated players.

There are two sides to every story, she did not feel like the commitment to her was being honored. There was division among the coaches, chemistry issues within the team, and each side was convinced they were right. It's impossible to question her talent or skills considering the MAC Player of the Year honor and then earning All-B1G at MSU.

" she did not feel like the commitment to her was being honored"

What does that mean? Was she expecting special treatment? I thought it was something to do with the husband/wife assistant coaches etc.

RE: Huskie Recruiting
As I have said before, If Carey is getting his top priorities then we are having recruiting success. If he puts together his wish list (realisticly), and we are getting the top players on that list, that is a great recruiting year. If Player A, B and C commit elsewhere and we are getting a commit from player D than that is not a win.

Tough to recruit when the P5's know you've had success and start looking at your top 4 or 5 verbals to see what they might have missed or need to fill their Class with.

Yep. Sometimes I think that is some of the B1Gs cheet sheet for last minute recruiting. We didn't get player A so we will offer Toledo A, NIU A, WMU A

I think everyone still misses the point. This class is not a class of fallbacks. These are our coaches hand picked recruits with no regard to star rating. Given our success I do think a P5 school may take a second look at someone who verbaled to us. We got a recruit form St Thomas Aquinas in Fl. they had I think 12 kids get rides. Now the kid we got may not be a 3 star but he played against some great competion on a great high school team.

I think I agree with you but wish I had their "Big Board" to prove it. The players from Illinois and Wisconsin definitely fit that bill. Would like to know how some of the Florida guys were signed. The new OC and DC have a hand in that?

Like I've said previously many of the 2* Florida kids are the equivalent of 3* kid from Illinois. The rating services have not seemed to be geographically sensitive in their evaluations.

Exactly...These Texas and Florida schools, and not even the best ones, would lay waste to any team from IL. But I don't think that is taken into account.

Coach Ward ( WR coach) is the Florida recruiter. He has had his hand in most, if not all, Florida recruits in the past 3 years.

Illinois and Michigan are usually really close in the recruiting rankings.
