WKU Hires Levine as assistant: Fox Sports Reports
If true, it's a great hire by Brohm and WKU

That sure looks to be a great hire. Probably just hired Brohm's replacement if he leaves.

Wow. Great hire. Levine took Houston to 2 straight bowls before being fired, and had some of the best statistical offenses in CFB history. Having him OC is a fantastic hire.

Also, most of Houston's best players from last year's NY6 bowl were Levine's recruits.

He just didn't win enough. He was fired before the bowl game.

Why is he going to be brohms replacement. I think he is going to retire here and have the school changed to brohm university.

(Sarcasm)

Would he be a good replacement?

Wow what a hire! This guy is not even our new OC? Serious? Brohm was not kidding when he was giddy when asked if any interest of any assistant coaching positions that have come up....I mean why would you leave if you can continue getting guys with this much experience to be your assistants even if one season....Seems like Brohm has endless contacts...

I heard this rumor about a month ago. WKU beat writer tweeted Jeff's brother Brian Brohm hired as QB coach

Good special teams coach. Even better guy. But I don't know where you're getting his offenses were awesome. That was under Sumlin and Briles

Prior to him being head coach, UH had the #1 offense. In his first season he had to fire his new OC after 1 game (losing to TX State) and the offense fell to #33 (admittedly he list the all time NCAA passer and a ton of talent). The next year he hires now TCU OC Doug Meacham as OC and the offense drops to #52. Meacham leaves for TCU and the offense goes to #53. New coach has UH back to #13

Levine has never been an OC and most of his coaching experience is with special teams.

I hope he succeeds because he is a great guy just wasnt a good enough head coach for where Houston wanted to be

Based on Levine's prior experience, it would make sense for him to be the Special Teams/TE coach. That would leave WKU with one remaining opening for an OL coach.

Not sure where people are getting the OC report from. Everything I've seen has Levine pegged as Special Teams Coach/ Offensive Assistant.

He was very uneven as a HC, but he had been a very good special teams coordinator and was a VERY effective recruiter. As a special teams coordinator, he is a fantastic and over qualified hire. W Kentucky is getting a lot of bang for their buck with this one. He needs to learn under Brohm for a while, and then spend some time as an OC somewhere. Maybe then he will be more prepared for an HC gig next time the opportunity presents itself.

We are still paying it, but frankly, Ive forgotten the exact amount. I want to say we had to pay him $250,000 a year through 2018, but its reduced by any amount he earns elsewhere (So, his hiring actually helps us out). Like I said, that's by memory and I fully admit that it may be off because it sounds low for a guy earning close to a million a year. Travis Bush had a similar deal and I may have the two confused.

Less than the lost revenue we would have had from no attendance. Probably less than the Peach Bowl payout

He just didn't win enough. He was fired before the bowl game.

Or how about, more accurately, he was the architect for some of the most humiliating losses in school history. Everyone remembers the UTSA wallop to open Houston's new stadium and Texas State killed UH in Robertson's final season opener with most of the team back from the record setting 13-1 season. They didn't miss Case Keenum that much. There was an unorganized laughable loss at UCLA and a humiliating loss to SMU that words can't describe (72 points?!).

They were humiliated by Tulane at home after he had won most of the fanbase back and that was the final straw.

What's worse is that they actually showed signs of promise in the AAC's first season and could have beaten powers UCF, BYU, Louisville and Cincy.
