Rockets battled today and got a much needed win, defeating Binghamton 9-6 to wrap up its games at the James Madison tournament. UT trailed 3-0 after 2 innings and tied it in the bottom of the third. Each team scored once in the fourth and twice in the fifth. In the bottom of the sixth the Rockets got a solo home run from Jessica Lemieux and a 2-run shot from Samantha Showalter for the win.

Spring trip to California started Friday with a 5-0 win over St. Peter's of New Jersey. Game 2 on Friday ended in a 9-0 loss to Cal Poly. Rockets face the same teams on Saturday.

UT's games on Saturday were canceled and Sunday's game (against Weber State) was also canceled. Up next for the Rockets, weather permitting, is a Tuesday doubleheader at UC-Riverside.

All right, way to go, Rockets.

UT led 2-1 going to the bottom of the 7th but gave up 2 and lost 3-2 to UC Riverside.

I think that was game 1 of a doubleheader and that the Rockets have another game coming up tonight.

The 3-2 loss was the second game of the DH. UT was swept by UC Riverside.

Rockets started play in Cal State Northridge's tournament on Thursday. UT lost its first game to Grand Canyon 11-3 and held on to beat Cal State Northridge 6-5 in its second game of the day. Rockets led 6-2 going to the bottom of the 7th: Northridge started the inning with two singles, followed by a 3-run homer to make it 6-5. With one out Northridge doubled but the runner was stranded at second and that ended it.

Rockets are now 4-14. UT scheduled to face San Diego State on Friday.

UT gave Northridge its first loss of the season. That win looks even better now than it did yesterday.

Toledo lost to San Diego 5-2 on Friday.

Rockets will face Oregon State and Cal State Northridge on Saturday to wrap up the spring break trip.

Going into the game against Oregon State, the Rockets are 4-16.

Rockets lost 7-2 to Oregon State (ranked 24th in the country). Rockets scored 2 in the top of the 5th to tie it but the Beavers scored 1 in the 5th and 4 in the 6th.

Up next - a doubleheader at Marshall on March 15th.

I just wonder when UT SB will be relevant gain? They did pick up 2 very good players from down here in Lebanon, Ohio ladies that I have umpire for. Anyone seen Miami Redhawks softball field/baseball ? It puts UT field to shame. The UT administration should put more focus on their baseball and softball facilities, its not just Football and basketball.
