Ball State is the "Michigan state champion" as they beat Western, Eastern, and Central all on the road this year. Can't remember the last time that happened.

6 games to go, this should be interesting.

Thank goodness they did away with the double and triple byes. Can you imagine ending the season tied with another team and you have win 5 games in the tourney compared to 2 for them?

That was always my argument against it.

Refs suck pretty much everywhere. Unless your team is far better than everybody else, all teams get screwed out of some wins every year. The more close games you play, the more games you have which are determined not by the players but by the refs.

Miami won our first road game of the season, in the ugliest MAC game of the year. I feel safe in making that statement even though I have not seen every MAC game. Miami made a grand total of 11 fg's and won. 3 wins in our last 4 games following a 10 game losing streak.
You want two of the more valuable programs to start their own conference?

If you go back and read the first pages of this thread, there is a UB fan and an NIU fan complaining about reffing and saying they want out of the MAC...I was poking fun at them.

When was a UB fan saying they want out of the MAC?

I mean NIU fans blame everything on the MAC, including their football attendance.

Indeed!!

I've long felt that seedings (#1 gets to play #8, a big +) plus the first round bye is sufficient reward for being Numero Uno.

And home court for the opening round is nice for teams 5 - 8.

I think the MAC got it right...

As discussed on the EMU board, we desperately want to get up to #7 or higher to get 1). a home game 2). Off the Akron line (1/8 bracket) in the 2nd round.

Believe me, there are AMPLE incentives for teams to try and win every conference game possible...
