While UCF has improved some....UCF's #1 player from last year (AAC All Rookie Team PG BJ Tayor) has been and is out for the entire season...plus last week, UCF lost their other AAC All Rookie Team SG Adonys Henriquez, who is now out for several weeks.
Add in that Coach Jones kicked off the team their PG from last year Brandon Goodwin, UCF now has only 1 real guard on the team (Walker), who is either hot or cold...and can be pressured into turnovers...and when he heads to the bench, UCF doesn't have anyone else to replace him...and that's when defensive pressure hurts UCF the most.
If UC shoots well, it could be a long night for UCF...as UC is #2 in team defense in conf play, while UCF is 7th.
UCF needs Tacko Fall and McBride to score 15 plus pts combine AND not get into foul trouble...as more and more teams are attacking the middle and getting the bigs into early foul trouble which opens up the lane when they are out of the game.
UCF has never beaten UC as the quickness of UC, especially on the defensive end, causes UCF fits.
Only question will be what will UCF look like in the first 4-5 mins of the game...after their last made shot in final tenths of a second vs Temple on Saturday which was disallowed on instant replay, resulted in the 2 pt loss...will UCF come out and fight.
Sports...its like a box of chocolate...never know what your gonna get...so tune in to find out.
