Chattanooga is steam rolling the Southern Conference. How can ETSU stop them?

If we play a half court game, we simply have to be on fire from outside. Sit Banks on the bench, play our normal game, and hope that we have another game where we hit 15 3's.

However, I would like to see us implement a full court press for at least 20 minutes, utilizing our deep bench and athleticism. Focus on getting turnovers, accept that we will give up some easy baskets, and let our fans give the team the boost needed to overcome the Mocs.

How do you beat the Warriors?

Stay active. Press! And press some more. Share the ball on offense and maintain 40 minutes of focus. Work the ball in, drive the lane, and keep points coming from the line. The Bucs are as good a team as any played this year - except Villanova, and fairly so - but NOT when they lose focus! They'll have to bring intensity on defense from the opening minute.

Big game for Mercer tonight as they welcome Chatt to Hawkins Arena in Macon. Looking forward to seeing how this one plays out

Mercer is still reeling from having a player killed I am sure (not his on court contributions) but they also just lost their leading scorer and another starter to suspension, it will take a gutsy effort for them to even compete, let alone win.

I can root AGAINST Chatt any day without supporting Mercer. I took a logic class or two in undergrad!

All things considered, though, I will pay my respect to Mercer's fallen brother on the human level.

A win at home Saturday would surely crush Chattanooga's hopes. We need it BAD to challenge Chatt's conference finish and boost RPI for March, if it's not entirely too late.

My feeling is that if we play well we should beat Chatty. We didn't play badly down there - we had 2 more RBs, more pts in paint & more (by a lot) 2nd chance pts. Only down 2 at the half. They came out in a kind of match up zone to begin the second half and it "cooled" our scoring. Plus they shot very well (55% for the game) and shot several more FTs than we did. Bucs fought hard and I felt we had a shot at a win up to the very end of the game.

A good home crowd will pump up our guys. I think that helps immensely with this team.

From what I hear, tickets sales are going extremely well for the UTC game. It should be the largest crowd of the year by far.

Obviously we can beat them IF the right things fall into place. Look at how some of the big boys in the top 10 have fallen of late. Anybody can lose. They're due one. We'll need a Green Bay type performance with hopes that they'll not have one of their usual nights.

But, we have to remember to buckle down and play well Thursday night!

ETSU is making students go pick up tickets for the game rather than us just swiping our card... First time I have seen this for a ball game at freedom...
